Introduction:

I am glad to be able to provide and share another (spoiler free) review but this time it’s time to review Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice which is such a special and unique single player game in so many ways. Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice is traditionally an action-adventure game but beside that it has multiple of other different genres to it such as psychological horror, hack and slash, dark fantasy and puzzle solving. It was developed by Ninja Theory, published by Ninja Theory, directed by Tameem Antoniades, written by Tameem Antoniades, produced by Rupert Brooker and composed by both David García and Andy LaPlegua. The game runs on the well known engine called Unreal Engine 4. It had multiple release dates for different platforms but it came out originally on August 8, 2017 on both PlayStation 4 and PC. April 11, 2018 for Xbox One and then exactly a year later on April 11, 2019 for Nintendo Switch.

Story:

In this story driven single player based game you play as Senua who is a Pict warrior from Orkney in the Norse Mythology universe during the end of the 8th century. On my first run of Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice it took me around 20 hours or so to complete the game but if you do a speed run or don’t focusing on getting all the achievements you will complete the game fairly fast. The story is not really that long but that isn’t necessary a bad thing since it is a linear story driven game mainly focusing on Senua and her story through harsh environments in order to get to her main objective. Also, there is different achievements to complete on your way throughout the game that might make your game time a bit longer. Throughout Senua's journey there will be many difficult challenges both physical and psychological to face. She sadly suffers from a condition called psychosis which is a real mental condition and plays a big part into the game and its story. I am very proud of Ninja Theory for creating a game focusing mainly on mental health awareness. Mental health is something very serious and so many people around the world suffer from it on a daily basis. Ninja Theory also donated all the money they made of the sales of their product to Rethink Mental Illness which was a very kind gesture to do.

World:

The world is incredible and well created with unique level designs. There are different settings you will come across during your time playing the game. Since this game isn’t an open world game but more like a linear game you do a lot of walking from point A to B. There is not any side transportation like horses or boats that you can use in your travel but since this isn’t an open world this won’t be an issue at all.

Combat:

The combat can be challenging but in a fun way. Though this isn’t something that will hinder you from enjoying the combat itself since it is a hack and slash type of combat system which you will get used to once you’ve played the game for a bit and learn how the controls works. Your weapon of choice in battles is a sword that you have from the beginning of the game and a certain ability that kind of stops the time in combat. The enemy types in the game can be a bit repetitive since there is only a hand full of different types to face but the boss battles that you go through are very well made and each of the bosses feels unique compared to one another. When it comes to death in the game you are limited and if you die too many times it can lead to permadeath and you will have to restart a new game. Now when I played on my first playthrough I at first died a lot of times and I was fine so I think this is also something that might not be as big as it sounds but I still think it is something to be aware of in the long run.

Gameplay:

Now to the gameplay part, which is very important for any game. If the core of the game's gameplay mechanics isn’t good then it won’t be fun playing but with Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice that isn't the case at all. The gameplay structure in this game is very good in a simplistic way with only one main task which is the story so there are not any side quests or a HUD to see the map on where you are supposed to go but there are audio indications that will help out. Senua also have a focus ability to inspect puzzles and objectives for example in the game. The puzzles are a lot of fun but I found some of them very hard and could take a while to solve them but they aren’t like the ones from the Tomb Raider franchise for example but more like vision puzzles sort of that is uniquely designed just for this game. This game and the experience you get is greatly optimized and well polished. Playing this game, I didn’t run into any bugs or glitches that prevented me from enjoying the game except one thing that I saw while I was in photo mode and that was a little red dot that often appeared for some reason. Another thing worth mentioning is that there is no Steam Cloud supporting the games progression.

Graphics:

One of the biggest highlights in this game besides the fantastic story and how well Senua is as character, is the graphics for the game. Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice is easily one of the most gorgeous games I’ve ever experienced in recent years of gaming when it comes to the details and overall visuals of how realistic the games surroundings feel and looks like. Ninja Theory really showed what the Unreal Engine 4 is capable of on the screen and created a beautiful product out of it. One of the biggest stand outs when it comes to the graphics part, I would say the facial texture on Senua is so realistic which was done through motion capture by Melina Juergens who did an amazing job portraying the character of Senua.

Sound:

The sounds and the effects are top class in this game so when you first start to play, I would definitely recommend using a headset/headphone to experience the game the best possible way. The voiceovers and the soundtrack for the game is incredible which is good since they have an important role to great that dynamic vibe.

Photo Mode:

Not only is the game incredible but it also has a photo mode which is always a plus for any game in my opinion and that it lets you create screenshots of the game and its virtual world. Also, worth to mention that this game supports NVIDIA Ansel photo mode is also available for users have an NVIDIA graphics card and you can create really good quality shots through it.

Final Conclusion:

Pros:

+ Mental health awareness.
+ A unique and strong story.
+ An incredible main protagonist.
+ Challenging combat system.
+ Great boss battles.
+ Photo mode support.
+ Stunning visuals.
+ Great sounds and effects.
+ Amazing voiceovers.
+ Good PC port.

Cons:

- No Steam Cloud support.
- Repetitive enemy types.
- Permadeath.

I'll give this game a well deserved 10/10 and I totally understand why this game got so many award nominations and wins. It's not very often you get a game like this. It is very a good and polished product that delivers a unique gaming experience worth at full price. The game manages to live up to what a good story drive game should include so I can’t see that many bad things about this game, phenomenal story, well written main protagonist, realistic visuals and satisfying yet challenging combat system. Though this game might not be for people that doesn’t like the dark fantasy sorts of games but besides that I actually believe most folks will be able to both relate and enjoy this game.

Introduction:

The time has finally come for me personally to write a (spoiler free) review about one of my favorite games of all time (Final Fantasy XV Windows Edition). It has been such a great journey playing this game and all I can say is that I haven't played a game like this one where you both have such a great character bonding and story. There aren't many games out there that has got me this emotionally invested into a game before and this one was definitely one of them. Final Fantasy XV Windows Edition is a JRPG, RPG, Action, Open World and Fantasy game developed by Square Enix Business Division 2, published by Square Enix, produced by Shinji Hashimoto, directed by Hajime Tabata, written by Saori Itamuro, Akiko Ishibashi, Takumi Nishida and Kazushige Nojima, produced by Shinji Hashimoto and composed by Yoko Shimomura. Final Fantasy XV originally came out November 29, 2016 on both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and after 15 months I've been waiting a long time for this masterpiece of a game to finally arrive to PC. The game is a Final Fantasy game for both fans and first-timers and it is the latest installment in the franchise. The Windows Edition does not only include the base game but also all the major DLC's content added to it like a definitive edition. But the Windows Edition also adds a few new features besides the DLC's like the Gordon Freeman Outfit with the Crowbar, Mods, NVIDIA GameWorks features, NVIDIA Ansel Support, First-Person Mode, 4K Resolution Pack, Graphic Enhancements, a new ability called "Armiger Unleashed", a Royal Vessel to drive around and explore the waters, a more expanded version of the Insomnia Ruins with two new boss fights and future content that will arrive in 2018 / 2019.

Story:

For me personally I think this game has an amazing rich story which has both emotional and happy moments in it. This game is a standalone game and does not connect with any of the previous titles in the franchise. The game takes place on an earth called Eos and the story is about crown prince Noctis Lucis Caelum son to King Regis Lucis Caelum and his long-time friends Ignis Scientia, Prompto Argentum and Gladiolus Amicitia. This game is not about the destination but about the journey and you can really feel the realistic bond between these four individuals and that's what's makes this game so unique. The games main protagonist Noctis who is crown prince of the Kingdom of Lucis and has many different task to conquer. I think Noctis is a really good and strong main game protagonist with full of emotional feelings.

Open World:

The world in Final Fantasy XV is just simply amazing in my opinion and has a lot of things to explore. To be honest I never feelt at any specific point where I felt bored because of the things you can do. It looks very beautiful and unique in it's on cool way, especially when you and your four buddies drive around the open world in the beautiful Regalia. That's not the only way to get around in the world, you could also fly in the Regalia type F or drive off-road with the Regalia type D. There are multiple different activities that you can do around the world like and a few of them is cooking, photography, fishing, side quests, explore Dungeons, fly or drive the Regalia, collect all the accessories, participate in the Altissa Monster Arena, play Justice Monsters Five, accept monster hunts and of course ride Chocobo's etc.

Combat:

The real-time combat with new weapons, summons, skills and magic in this game is really well made and I really find it a lot of fun and simplistic in a good way. The combat is not that difficult to understand so after you've played a while you will get into it and learn it pretty fast.

Gameplay:

The game is very well optimized and runs fantastically smooth. I haven't met any types of issues like fps drops or stuttering or bugs. So, when it comes to the overall gameplay and mission structure I think Square Enix Business Division 2 did a very good job with it though I have to say that there can be a few side quests that can be a bit repetitive because you do the same thing over and over again, but other than that I would say that there is not that much grind in this game at all besides only a few side quests. And another little thing I found that was less good was that you can't save while in Dungeons but that might be because to make the game harder and more challenging.

Graphics:

The game looks very beautiful and the environment in this game looks amazing. This game is pretty demanding though you if you have a low end PC you can tweak either the game settings or maybe check any of the great performance guides in Steam to help you out.

Soundtrack:

I think FFXV's soundtrack is amazing and has one of the best soundtracks to a game that I've ever experienced. The game has also many different soundtracks from the previous titles in the franchise of Final Fantasy. Listening to older Final Fantasy game soundtracks through your car or the MP3 is just a blast while exploring.

DLC:

The DLC's for this game is really good and there is four major DLC called Episode: Gladious, Prompto, Ignis and then there is the Multiplayer Expansion: Comrades. The three episodes are told very well and it's cool to play as Gladious, Prompto and Ignis in them. Comrades is also a lot of fun and I had a blast creating my own avatar and play with three other friends. In Comrades both you and your team play as members of the Kingsglaive and your task is to fight epic battles and take on great quest. For me personally I think the Ignis DLC is the best one so far because of the story and I can't wait to play the other episodes that will come in 2018/2019.

Mods:

We the players just as well got the option to play this game with mods and I love games that has mod support to them, makes the game live longer. I have tried a few outfits and weapons mods thus far but at the moment there is not that many mods because the mod support for FFXV just got released a few weeks ago. But there will be more mods to come and I'm happy to see what the creative community has to create and share to us.

Final Conclusion:

Pros:

+ Amazing rich story with likable main characters.
+ A large wonderful open world with beautiful graphics.
+ Perfect real-time combat system.
+ A game with massive amount of content.
+ Amazing soundtrack.
+ Mod support.

Cons:

- A few repetitive side quests.
- Can't save while in Dungeons.

I'll give this game a strong 10/10 and I highly recommend it to anyone who likes JRPG, RPG or Open World games. This game is one of a kind and has exactly in my opinion what a game should be like, a good combat system, great gameplay, an amazing story, a lot of content worth your time, a great main protagonist and a beautiful open world. So, for 49,99 EUR I would say it is definitely worth picking it up since you get a good game with so much content and even future content in 2018 / 2019.

Introduction:

After 360+ hours in the game I just completed everything there is to do and I can finally give you guys a good (spoiler free) review of Assassin’s Creed Origins. Assassin's Creed Origins is a game set in the beautiful Ancient Egypt and is the origin story of the franchise. You play as Bayek, a retired medjay who seeks revenge because of events that took place before the main game. Assassin's Creed Origins is an RPG, Open World, Stealth, Adventure and Action game developed by Ubisoft Montreal, published Ubisoft, directed by both Jean Guesdon and Ashraf Ismail, written by Alain Mercieca, produced by Martin Schelling and composed by Sarah Schachner. This game runs on the AnvilNext 2.0 engine and it came out October 27, 2017 on both PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. This game is perfect for people who like RPG, Open World, Stealth, Adventure and Action games Assassin’s Creed Origins is the latest installment in the franchise.

Story:

The story of Assassin's Creed Origins is amazing and also pretty long. For me it took around 40 hours to complete just the main story and I really liked the conecpt of how the it all started. You play as Bayek who is a retired medjay. Bayek is a very good protagonist and actually my second favorite protagonist after Ezio in the franchise.

Open World:

The open world in this game is amazing and takes place in ancient Egypt. When I played the game I stopped so many times just to appreciate the beautiful environment Ubisoft has created for this title and there is even big cities with amazing detailed architecture to explore. The cities themselves was very alive and filled with people to interact with and each city felt unique in it's own way when you visited them. There is a lot of things to do and see in this game and a few of them is to explore ruins and tombs, climbing pyramids, fighting in the gladiator arenas, join the hippodromes races, visit the Sphinx, explore underwater and so much more.

Combat:

The combat system in Assassin's Creed Origins is greatly improved as well and much harder and not as easy as the other games combat is. But it was hard but in a fair way and you really felt rewarded after defeating the enemy. I also really am happy with the new combat system just because it feels a lot more stable and not as clunky as the previous games from the franchise. But after you play for a while you will get used to the combat system and understand it.

Ability System:

In this game there is also a brand new awesome ability system. When you level you, you gain ability points that you can spend on new abilities and I overall liked the abilites I got and felt so rewarded when I unlocked them.

Gameplay:

This time around Assassin's Creed Origins is not your standard AC game but more like an RPG game and I really like that Ubisoft went down that road because I can honestly say that they nailed that aspect of the game. This game also delivers a lot of mission variety which is a big step forwards compared to the other games in the franchise. I also like that the parkour feels way much smoother and better developed. Another thing I liked as well was the new hunting and crafting system. You can use your eagle called Senu and mark the animals or resources to now where they are. You can either hunt or find resources to upgrade your personal gear but this time it felt important to do it and I felt very motivated to do it as well. For me I didn’t feel like I had to grind to get resources like you did in the previous games. There are parts in this game which make the game feel very realistic and one of them are hallucinations you can get when you are in the desert regions because of the heat. You can also tame animals so they can assist you in battle for example, just like in Far Cry Primal for example. This games loot system was also very good and simple which is awesome and I hope that the other games in the future goes by this loot system.

Graphics:

The graphics and the visuals in this game is simply amazing, I think this game actually is one of the best looking games out there. You can explore environments like deserts, swamps, waters and much more. The details looks so realistic with the AnvilNext 2.0 game engine and people who really like the Ancient Egypt era will not be disappointed at all.

Discovery Tour:

In the Discovery Tour you get to explore different locations across the world and also learn more about them. I really liked this new feature to the franchise and I hope that the Discovery Tour will be in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey as well.

Trial of the Gods:

In the Trial of the Gods you actually get to fight different ancient Egyptian gods which is awesome and you also get rewards for doing so.

DLC:

The Hidden Ones:

This DLC is a great expansion to Bayek’s story after the events of Assassin’s Creed Origins base game. The events of this DLC takes place 4 years after the main game and in The Hidden Ones you get see the start of The Brotherhood. I think this DLC gives the player great content besides that the main story of the DLC itself is very short. It took me around 3-4 hours to complete the main story and I was kind of surprised how short it actually was compared to the main story of Curse of the Pharaohs expansion which took me almost 12 hours to completed. I would say that if you liked the base game you will like this expansion but just beware that the main story of the DLC is short but has a new region with side stuff to explore and do which is awesome.

Curse of the Pharaohs:

This DLC is my favorite DLC to an Assassin’s Creed game and I really find this expansion great just because of the amount of content you really get from it. Curse of the Pharaohs is the longest of the two DLC’s available and it’s about when Bayek gets a quest to help the city of Thebes and help them with strange events taking place in city. This expansion lets you travel to new regions to explore and even regions from the beautiful Afterlife to explore. In this DLC there are a lot of verity and the feel and the atmosphere feels amazing. There are also new pharaohs you can fight and also a new item called Chards of the Stars and these stones lets you fully upgrade your gear.

Photo Mode:

Finally, an Assassin’s Creed game that has an awesome photo mode which allows you to take beautiful photos from the beautiful Egypt itself.

Final Conclusion:

Pros:

+ Amazing loot system.
+ A great story.
+ Awesome architecture and environment .
+ Improved combat system.
+ Beautiful open world that feels alive.
+ Tombs to explore.
+ Trial of the Gods.
+ Egyptian Mythology.
+ Photo Mode.
+ Discovery Tour.

Cons:

- FPS drops within the release of the DLC’s.
- The length of The Hidden Ones DLC.
- Slightly annoying NPC’s.
- Aya’s sequences felt rushed.
- Can be a bit grindy at times.
- Few glitched achievements.
- All content does not include in the season pass.

I'll give this game a good 9/10 and I highly recommend it to anyone who likes RPG, Open World and Stealth games. This game really has everything a game should have, a great combat system, great gameplay, good side quests, an amazing story, a lot of content worth your time, a good main protagonist and an amazing open world. I think this game is worth the full price tag at 59,99 EUR and if you really want a game that you can play for while this game is for you.
