What a cute charming short puzzler. Usually these kinda games start out simple and go nuts after a few levels. This one manages to keep it relatively doable but also make you feel smart. 8/10

A good game for a certain kinda gamer. The game is a tactical real-time with pause with roguelite elements and a persistent world.

I bounced off this game the first time I played it but I ended up trying it again and finishing it in two seatings.

The game is about you pulling off stealth missions/heists using limited tools and unconventional tactics. The game is light on teaching you what you can do but the possibilities are vast. Don't want to deal with a certain guard, teleport him into space. Want to clear a whole room? Smash someone down a corridor with a hammer and bust him through a window. Wanna rescue an unconscious person? Space him and remote control your breaching pod to grab him in space. Too many guards make it too hard to kill all of them? Steal another ship and blow up this one piece by piece.

The game really shines when you're put into tight corners and have to figure your way out using what you have around you.

If that sounds like your cup of tea, go for it.

I think perhaps this game was not meant for me so I will not recommend it. However if you are one to look for a game to prove your platforming skills to the Nth degree, perhaps you will like this more.

For me, the game has beautiful art, story, and music. The art side of the game is great.

The problem with the game is that the level design around halfway through the game onwards goes from becoming difficult to almost spiteful. Playing the game I did not feel that the designers had intended me to have fun with it at all, only that the game would be difficult. Wind mechanics, instant death pits and spikes, conveyor belts, projectiles. medusa head-type enemies ala Castlevania, scrolling screens, and many more all layered on top of one another to make a really frustrating last third of the game.

The jumping in this game doesn't feel all that great and a bit sluggish, and this game has a weird thing where the ladders are kinda hard to stick on to and you tend to jump beyond them accidentally.

All in all, if it were a game that was less hateful to its players, perhaps I would've liked it more.

This is a bad runner game.

Why would you put the camera at an angle, especially considering this game already does not use proper defined lanes, and allows you to navigate precisely. You can't tell when your character is flying over a thing or not, or whether they're on the right plane to avoid hazards.

While I suspect the intention was to make a "deep, challenging" runner game with lots of control, the bad camera, awkward controls, and difficulty aligning your character makes this seem like a game the developers made for themselves, rather than for people to enjoy.

Don't get it.

Early Access Review
If you liked Risk of Rain, you'll love this.

RoR2 somehow manages to do 3d gameplay but feel almost exactly like it did in the original.

Gunplay is similar to RoR except you have to aim, but I feel that there's some soft aim assist to help you out. The guns pretty much feel just like the original.

Music is good, in a style similar to the previous game, tho none of the tunes have hooked themselves into my brain just yet.

Stacking movement + items makes you move around like a Warframe, its great.

Combat is surprisingly fun, and feels good, tho when the difficulty starts getting higher, there's a chance your weapons might start losing impact.

Performance is super smooth, except in the later levels when you activate the teleporter and everything starts kicking off.

All in all I'm very happy with this game.

(If this is listed as a "gift" its cause I was showing my friend the RoR2 trailer and he immediately impulse bought it before I could say anything)

It's like playing poker drunk with Cthulhu and hustler Morgan Freeman while the aliens from XCom are knocking down your door.

Fantastic flavour and awesome art direction.

Very very reliant on RNG tho, so if that's not your cup of tea, beware
