Well, got it from a friend as a gift, and it would've been rude to him not to play it.
So while I got it without it costing me money, I wasn't sponsored by EA or Codemasters, just a good friend.

There are things that I like:
-If I look at it as an arcade racer, if Forza Horizons or other racers drove like Pcars 3 and had wheel support like it, they would be more fun for wheel users, and me.
-Modding the cars is actually fun, like building a race version that never was, or building a version of the old NSX to beat the ♥♥♥♥ out of the new NSX. Sue me, the old NSX is best NSX!

However, there are tons of strange decisions and bad sides:
-the career goals can be quite hard at times, not the win race X or do that, but the time trials and pacemakers, for two reasons a) Some times are quite hard to beat and often can only be beat with specific car builds aka meta builds. b) the format is stupid you get one lap one shot instead of the open ended format of the Pcars 2 TT Leaderbord and Community Challenges which seem to not be available anymore. You only get 3 laps in the pacemaker and if you mess up it's start all over again istead of doing an extra lap or an extra two-three laps with you being able to settle into a rythm.
-Career mode is made actually more frustrating to more casual players due to that, as in Pcars 2 with it's "win the championship format" you didn't need to win all races and if it was too hard, you could adjust difficulty.
-there's always one meta car per class, instead of most cars being viable for the championship as there would be different tracks that suit different cars.
-engine mods are very cheap, power-rating wise compeared to upgrades to the suspension, tires, aero or brakes, despite having a much larger impact on your car's ability to race. As it's much easier to overtake on the straights, than make the most of your cars better handling in the corners, thanks to the AI.

-The AI is very fond of playing Ping-pong with worse agression and racecraft on all settings. They don't know how to hold line to make a blue-flag overtake easier. Instead they try to predict your moves and jump out of the way, often enough causing a collison or go full off track.
-The Grind to get cars is annoying, especially given that you don't get money for the race results. Instead, you get money for reaching an XP-level. That means you don't get rewarded for doing good in a race, which is not really motivating. Why should you risk something to win, if you can get by
In Pcars 2 you got rewarded for doing well in a race by getting a higher championship position and a higher chance to win.
-No pit stops means no strategy game, no winning the race with a good strategy by coming from behind.
-No Damage also means no gains in being a strategic driver and winning by staying out of trouble.

This game and it's singleplayer do not teach you how to be a responsible driver, or just point you in the right direction. It actually teaches you how to be the YOLO-Divebombing-into-Turn-1-at-Monza-Menace that everyone hates.

Each time I play Pcars 2 or AMS2 I'm sad to stop, and I would like to continue playing them. I can't say the same for Pcars 3 at all. Quite often I'm more than happy to end, because the grind sucked all the fun out of it.

If you liked Pcars 2, don't waste your money on this, it is not an improvement on it, it's a regression to something worse.

Edit: P.S. 105 hours in. It got even worse, as far as the challenge/career mode design is concerned....in Road A's third challenge series there is this championship called "Enzo and Bruce" where you have to drive in the snow, both in snow and snowstorm.
Which could be a fun challenge, in something like an Audi Quattro, or a Subaru, or a homologation special of a WRC car....with an AI that has to obey the same laws of physics as you do.
Not in a a rear-wheel drive only supercar, with way too much power, and an AI that is clearly not playing on the same physics engine as you do. The AI's driving behaviour goes into straight ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥-land there. They don't struggle with traction at all, only you do. Oh and even if you accidently hit them and they spin out, they somehow overtake you in the next traction zone.....

And the rotation of cars on sale in the showroom is fixed since a few months back and has not changed at all, so don't bother log in every day for a good deal on your favourite car...
