5 years 2 days on update: Had 2 failed relationships (lived with both of them probably why) now lives in a repurposed school with single glazed windows because that's all he can afford and it gets really cold in the winter. After his failed phD attempt decided to try his hand with programming - not going too well so far. Please stay posted for further updates

Update: Failed his PhD, now working as a local bin man
