I can’t say I was ever a diehard fan of Skullgirls, but I am a fan nonetheless. The stylized hand-drawn characters, music, and unique personalities draw you in. I played mostly on mobile before eventually purchasing the PC version, and I did so because I appreciate the product they created. However, my feelings have changed since learning about the recent censorship.

Has the gameplay changed at all because of it? No. But I can’t help but wonder: who asked for the removal of suggestive imagery? Who requested the removal of armbands, altered cutscenes, or the removal of gallery art and the Russian-themed announcer? I can't think of anyone who would support such changes. I've never been in favor of censorship, and many people bought this game knowing it included suggestive content. Removing that suggestiveness feels like stripping away a core part of Skullgirls’ identity. If they wanted to move away from that aspect, fine, but outright removal is not the right approach.

If they had offered an option to disable the “suggestive” elements, I don’t think the backlash would have been as severe. Regarding the announcer, why couldn’t they provide an alternative voice option? With the time and resources spent on the removals, they could have easily invested in creating a free voice pack or an option to disable the suggestive content. Because of all this, I can’t support a product that censors and removes content without offering choices for the players.

There are better ways to handle this, and they chose the least favorable option. But why should my opinion matter? They already have my money, and removing the product from my Steam account would accomplish nothing. They seem to be responding to criticism by hiding negative comments and flooding the discussion with overly positive ones, almost like bot-generated responses. I don’t harbor any ill will or resentment toward them; I just wish they had chosen a better path.

As a side note, I recently discovered that Skullgirls was crowdfunded in 2013. Everyone who originally invested their money for the game contributed to its first DLC character, Squigly. The campaign raised nearly $830,000, which included stretch goals for additional characters like Big Band and Robo-Fortune, as well as several alternate character and announcer voice packs, alongside the gallery and voice pack features.

What is this ♥♥♥♥ lol but seriously I like what there tying to do but its done it the worst way possibility. How are you going to make a game without a settings page! You hear the same song over and over and over. Not only that no Health regeneration/ pickups. If you told me a high school kid made this for a class assignment I could believe that.
I suspected by how fast you move it would like Doom 2016. And each hit I made a combo meter would come up on my screen puking colors till I want to rip my eyes out.
Don't get me started on the flying, how you going to make tab the move forward button. wwwwwwwwhhhhhhhhhyyyyyyyy!

Have you ever been to a bargain bin? We’ve all experienced that—sifting through piles of junk in hopes of finding something worthwhile. Just when you think there’s no chance of discovering a great deal, you dig deeper and uncover a diamond in the rough. That diamond is "Blue Estate: The Game." But don’t linger too long on the cover like I did; just hit play and dive into this comedic rail shooter filled with dark humor.

The game is delightfully absurd and easy to follow, making it an enjoyable experience that doesn’t require much thought. It carries a vibe similar to "Killer7." If you’re looking for something serious, you’ve come to the wrong place. For instance, a dog humps one of the main characters’ legs repeatedly throughout the game. However, "Blue Estate" is all about providing laughs with its wacky story, which is sure to leave you smiling.

On the technical side, the game is decent, but it won’t blow you away. Most of the bosses feel like glorified sponge characters, but there are strategies to defeat them quickly if you’re quick on the draw. Still, none of the bosses stand out enough to make you exclaim, “WOW.

The writing is what drives the game; without it, the boss fights wouldn’t be nearly as entertaining. Additionally, the game levels provide challenges for those eager to earn bonus points and climb the leaderboard.

In terms of weapons, Tony relies on his trusty infinite desert eagle, which gives him an endless supply of bullets. You could say that Mary is truly blessing that seal in his hand. For Clarence, he wields a silent pistol—no jokes for my former Navy SEAL, as it’s all business for him. Throughout the journey, you'll come across additional weapons that offer more firepower and ammo to tackle enemies.

However, it's Blue Estate’s humor and quirky story that tie everything together beautifully. Without these elements, the game would fall apart. So if you're looking for a fun, albeit short, experience, definitely check out Blue Estate. It’s a true diamond in the rough and deserves more recognition.

While we're on the subject of recognition, let's talk about comics. Much like a drug, once you pick them up, it's hard to put them down—you'll find yourself wanting more. Unfortunately, the game hasn't seen any expansions since its launch in 2015. But, similar to someone with a habit, you continuously seek out more content.

Let me introduce you to the Blue Estate comics. I would be surprised if you weren't already aware of them. However, if you're looking for a continuation of the video game storyline, you may be disappointed; the comics focus on a different narrative involving Tony and Clarence, though they maintain a similar feel. Tony is still a screw-up, while Clarence is there to fix his mistakes. Beyond that, the comic and the video game don’t share much in common.

Check out the comics because they're well-written, and the dynamic art style shifts during intense moments! You’ll learn a lot more about Clarence and Tony in their version of Los Angeles. I expected the comics to be mediocre, but they exceeded my expectations. Don’t just take my word for it—explore both the game and the comics. You won’t be disappointed. However, if you are, please direct your complaints to Tony. He’ll get back to you soon with a bullet that has your name on it.

Firstly I want to say how I discovered the Darkness 2 at the time. It was a summer day while I was on my PlayStation 4. Bored as hell as I was getting sick of playing Call of Duty: Ghosts and Battlefield 4 at the time. I was so bored I decided to sign up for PlayStations streaming service of older game titles, and that's where I found Darkness 2.
The cover of the game they had displayed for the Darkness 2 gave me the feeling it was a horror game at first glimpse, compared to the other titles where they had dark twisted imagery. With the Darkness 2, Jackie sat in a chair that could almost be like a throne room chair as the darkness arms came from both sides, the main character lies slumped holding Engraved Colts.
I love the imagery alone as you really can't see Jackie's face as its shroud and darkness for the most, It made me think that we would be playing a character who's already engulfed to this evil monster lurking in the background but, wasn’t I wrong.
I decided to go in blind, not knowing what this game really might be about, and I was taken away by the comic book-like art style, The writing and gun mechanics mixing with the dark powers. If you're running out of ammo, don't worry, there's an upgrade for that. You get to shoot bullets created by the darkness for a few seconds.
Let's say you're pinned down, your Darkness can release swarm of bugs to distract your enemies as you reload or do one of the three executions available through your upgrades. Ranging from Health regeneration, ammo regeneration, and a shield to take some of that damage. (My favorite part about the executions are there uninterruptible very helpful when s*** is going down)
The most common upgrade everybody will be getting is the armor upgrade. It's personally one of my favorite updates just for the fact alone it changes Jackie’s arms. It covered them in the darkness black and purple Colors. The demonic armor looks badass but, be careful though. The moment you enter a light source, your armor disappears until you return to the shadows. Last but not least let's not forget though our little compadre the darkling that tags along with you through the main story. Assisting you in many ways and providing some humor. You can upgrade him and throw him, and he can be a blazing ball of death… I just like throwing him in general.
But if upgrading the darkness itself ain't your style, you always have your trusty weapon upgrades, there are upgrades for shotguns, assault rifles to make them do more damage, have bigger clips, and reload faster.
There was one upgrade that confuses me, for it said it was only for the pump shotgun. After shooting your next shot, it will tighten up if you hit the left click mediately after shooting. That also applies to the Winchester Model 1887. I found that out when playing Vendettas with my friends. Speaking of vendettas, I have a vendetta against 2K now for the treatment of this Co-op story mode. You can see this Horrible treatment in the Darkness 2 home menu when viewing the downloadable content button leading to nowhere. The sale numbers of the Darkness 2 lead the multiplayer story: “Vendettas” to sit on the benches for the rest of eternity. This was heartbreaking to me; I grew immediate love for the characters like “JP Dumond” AKA The witch doctor and Jimmy Wilson Aka, the drunk ax-wielding Irishman. The cast of characters they have for this game mode are very interesting and their responses to each other are hilarious and shed dark humor at the same time. What interests me more is that this multiplayer story is set during the events of Darkness 2 primary campaign. So if you play the story, you will understand what was happening, but I thought my friends would play the game when I got it for them, but no. So I had to fill them on everything that was happening and why it was happening. My friends are not big on the darkness series, but they found lots of enjoyment from the co-op story and even they wish that there was more.
Maybe one day 2K will come back to the darkness series for it's a very well-loved series; that started as a comic book that turns into a video game. I know the guys from Top cow would love to see their series The darkness return to the video game scene and fans like me would love it if they did.

After playing pray, before the moon crash DLC came out, I was very mixed in the first few hours of the game.
I kept thinking of Dishonored but watered-down experience but, In space. The Way the neuromods acted like the whale bones, but instead, You can fabricate them.
Alternatively, how The chipsets and even Psychoscope Chipsets are very similar to the Bone charms.
There were just a lot of similarities I could compare to dishonor except for a few essential things.
They gave us a new story, and with it was New Game Plus, which was highly asked for with a few survival Mechanics. Such as Weapon jamming, weapon Integrity, and oxygen If your suit is badly damaged enough outside a breathable atmosphere.
It has gotten slightly better since the release of the Moon crash DLC, which was a breath of fresh air in an environment that had a lack of air.

Gotham City Impostors is one of the best free to play games I think available on Steam. it doesn't beat Team Fortress 2 at all but it's up there in my opinion maybe sitting at the third spot with them. I've been playing this game since I first ever had my Steam account but then I deleted it cuz I found Team Fortress 2 being a lot more enjoyable and having a bigger community. But 5 years later now I find myself playing Gotham City Impostors again and I come to be surprised that there is still a small community out there. I will always find a full Lobby, I don't know if I'm just lucky or what. But I will say the game does have its fair share of flaws and as it age.
And it hasn't age well. The game old and doesn't look so good But at least you'll get some steady frame rate than if you have a low end computer. The game isn't fluent at all, there's no consistency and there are hackers will meet at least every few sessions you play. And guns are not that well Balance. But there's just something about Gotham City Impostors comedy aspects that makes me overlook the fluency of the game and balancing of weapons. I would have to say it would be the funny voice lines characters give after you get killed by one of them, or the outrages calling cards they have.
Like for example. I have Bane calling card looking down at someone as it says “I live in my mother's basement”. I thought that was funny as hell looking back, and I find it still funny to this day. Then there's the characters themselves, Have you seen a big buff looking character Swinging a katana at you as it has the voice of Mickey Mouse cursing at you? Like where else are you going to find this kind of humor.
I know for a fact if this game was to come back it would thrive. I feel like this game came out during the wrong time for gaming. If that makes any sense. If they were to come back with more customisations like“Team Fortress 2” And general fixes along with Content like voice lines Four characters like “overwatch” has to grind for. And as it pains me to say, maybe... loot boxes. This might be The biggest comeback for a free-to-play game.
