Spoilers for the last part of the game

I got this game about a week ago (December 10th) because my older brother gave me a steam gift card and I heard nothing but good things about this game. I also went in as blind as I possibly can.

I was enjoying the gameplay. I am a big fan of Resident Evil and Silent Hill and the game plays like the former while having vibes of the latter. The puzzles are probably some of the best puzzles I've seen in survival horror, where they were tough enough that I didn't steamroll through them but just easy enough that I didn't have to look up a guide online to beat them.

I loved the atmosphere and mystery of the game, I had many questions about this game and was curious about how it would all piece together at the end.

Unfortunately, when I got to the END I was left unsatisfied.

"Was that it?" I wondered "She gets her arm ripped off and dies trying to get back on the ship?"

The credits rolled and I was still left with lots of questions that weren't answered. Seeing when I pressed begin and it took me back to the beginning, I thought it was new game +. Being pretty late then, I shut off the game before going further.

Here was how I felt about the game at the time

Fast forward to a week later, I was looking to see what ending I got and how I can get the different endings. But to my surprise. Out of the 4 endings you can get, my ending wasn't on there. Confused, I went to see my save and saw it was just before the ending cutscene. So I let it play out and started at the beginning again. But this time I keep playing...


Turns out, The end wasn't the end. And that I almost missed the last big chunk of the game (where a LOT of questions I've had were answered BTW) because I thought "Oh the credits are rolling so this MUST be the end of the game"

I commend the developers for pulling a clever fast one on me that almost made not like their game lol

Safe to say that I have a way more positive experience and opinion of this game now that I ACTUALLY beat the game.
