Yes if you want singleplayer. The story is amazing and the graphics are beautiful. I constantly feel so small in the world of Baldur's Gate 3.

If you want to play with friends, either wait or dont, since I encountered plenty of bugs only in the multiplayer which includes desyncing, graphical bugs and the inability to save a game, therefore we lost 1.5 hours of progress.

*This review is subject to change, I have not explored the game very much, but due to the game annoying me in some ways I felt compelled to quickly review the game.

I need a "Maybe" button since there's a lot of good but also some definite drawbacks. I'm just gonna briefly go over some points since I haven't played a lot:
Good:
Customizable builds,
Lots of cool items and lots of unique mechanics,
Very fun yet challenging gameplay to manage.

Bad:
There's no variety in starting position,
Possibility of walking into a new zone/area and be surrounded by enemies (just happened to me)
No possibility of multiple save games,
No manual saving, if you die then you get setback to a 'checkpoint' despite a lot of progress.

Areas the dev's need to look into:
No matter what, you're the same old man in the same situation for every new game. If you want to push "open world" and "randomly generated" and even "customizable builds" then at least give options for character creation.
Include manual saving. I saw that the developers were unable to implement it due to their engine which is a massive flaw in their development.

A very good and realistic (in terms of physics) table tennis game.
There's only some minor physics problems with backhand attacking shots.

Very good for fun or competitive games

TL:DR Review
Played for 4 hours in one session.
You improve every time, learning new skills and changing your loadout. This is magika theme + binding of isaac structure game which I love. I've only reached a quarter of the first challenge and there's a load more challenges, modes and spell for me to learn.
Lastly, there's lots of replay ability where multiplayer can only add to this when it is added (ONLINE MULTIPLAYER IS NOT YET IMPLEMENTED)
8/10

It's difficult to review the game with little time put in as well as the numerous + and - added. This review will help if you played the previous game.
TL:DR
+More foooood
+New designer feature
+Different Chefs
+Clean Layout
+Challenging gameplay (moreso than the original)
+better chores (especially the robbery one)

-Silly Tab+1 feature to prep food (kinda annoying)
-No clear buzz rating / food perks and flaws
-No satisfaction with spamming out orders (e.g CSD1 "B O G M" was a classic salad order)
-Lack of knowledge of your progression (no clear email saying your inspector is arriving to get a star)

(I will add any new + or - i find while playing)

Overall I reccomend the game but to be honest its a let down seeing as I have waited since the original announcements.

FIRSTLY If you like open world as well as hack & slash this *could be a mix of the two (*From personal experience)
Imagine for honor mixed with a fighter (e.g Mortal Kombat) and you get Absolver, it's a stance driven game which requires you to master your combat deck (Your own customizable combo list).

POINTLESS COMPLAINTS A lot of people are already wanting a refund as a result of a minor bug which can be solved easily through restarting various things (computer, steam, game) or waiting for the Devs to respond. Some people are complaining about pre-ordered gear not obtainable which the devs have responded to.

WHAT TO EXPECT You're going to die, a lot. Don't expect to rush into areas where you believe you're Jackie Chan. You either need to explore to find easier areas to discover new combos or gather a group of friends. DO NOT cry when you die, I've gotten mad already when clutch moments fail, I simply move to another area and level up and to learn my deck.

PERSONAL OPINION I have not experience any lag and so have been able to experience the game on a good first term. I love the style as well as the combat as it is intense yet smooth to play. This game gets a big thumbs up from me however a small portion of the community seem to be impatient :(.

TL:DR Review
Yes you should buy this game if you enjoy building a civilization from the ground up.
Personally I felt like i'd play it once and never again, I had done this before with Oxygen not Included, but I have continously come back to this game as I love it.

Tip: I previously made a colony where I messed up multiple times, building too many solar panels etc. I then started again with more knowlege (which is much better!)

The game can be harsh but that's the fun of it. I normally hate games which can inevitably kill your people. Rim world is sort of that but less harsh as auto saves have saved me multiple times.

I recommend some workshop mods EG to reduce the power usage of lights and character customization.

This is a simple dumbed down review for those who want an easy read.

Lag (There is barely any from personal experience)
Lag is dependant on the host, either you or the opponent. I suffered from this and left every match when put against this same person with lag. Other than this lag is rare and the game flows nicely.

Players
There aren't many players online however you will often find matches quick, playing against the same guy over and over again. This isn't too bad as you still play against someone, but if they are better you may suffer. This is an obvious flaw as it's a new game which needs more advertisement / attention.

Characters
Character balence is decent but i've only played 3 characters and played against the rest.
  • Olaf Tyson can spam his freeze but isn't too over powered.
  • Volt seems fair to fight against.
  • King Apu can spam out combos but requires some skill.
  • Paco seems underpowered in combos and can be boring.
  • Chief Feathers is good for spamming and is quick to learn.
  • Sephi'ra is decent and balence, with medium skill you should be able to combo well.

Other Notes
Paco is easy to beat as his recovery is dependant on the opponent being close to you / the edge.

When playing Sephi'ra a bunch I noticed that her recovery can glitch against objects (will send this to bugs post). This meant her recovery would catch on the tiniest pixel and will leave you falling off the edge.

I remember seeing Volt (when playing against him) use his thunder cloud move but he wasnt banging on the drum while he casted it, his model just stood still. (Will send this bugs post).

Being early access you are given the basics of quickplay and practice but does include tournaments and ranked modes.

Aesthetics are amazing and the characters are great looking (I love paco <3).

Needs a ledge grab, which would save so many deaths and increase play time per match.

The creators say the price will only rise after early access. I dissaprove of this as alternatives such as brawlhalla (which is free) will stomp this game. This game needs a big sale or something to jump start its playerbase. This is sort of what rocket league did before Youtubers started playing it.

Okay. First of all i want to say... I am addicted and i need help please... Seriously though this game is a mix of Farmville, Animal Crossing and any indie RPG. You might get turned off by the 8-bit textures HOWEVER IT WORKS, unlike Undertale. Thats right, fanboys and girls im ready. Back on track, this game has alot of choices. An example being, if you don't make friends then no one will dance with you at an event, or if you spend too much time giving people gifts you will fall behind and never make any money. Which brings me to my next point which is that you got to stay ontop, you can't keep your farm the same, you got to improve your ranch / farm. Also another bonus is that you can get a girlfriend / boyfriend. Only one complaint, I would like options for talking to people like the Tale tales games where it changes their opinion of you depending what you choose (They already do this but on certain occasions, I'd prefer every interaction to have this.) But to be honest this game is still very good, especially for a new release.

This is one of the best casual games i have ever played!

One downside is that I am so addicted I forgot to do homework... Worth it!
