This game will change you. The kind person you once saw yourself will be a figment of your imagination. Every day you will look into the mirror with disgust. You will pray to God for forgiveness and to take you away from here. The toxic slums of Rust is contagious, days will go by and you will think to yourself who am I. If these things interest you, this is the game for you!

I been playing counter strike global offensive for over five years and here's my honest review.

Valve ruined the game by making it free to play (FTP). I remember before the FTP update the amount of cheaters were low and the amount of players on community servers and regular matchmaking servers were high. The moment they made this game FTP is the moment a vast storm of cheaters rolled into counter strike. THE PLAYER BASE BEGAN TO SHRINK AFTER FTP AND NOT BEFORE. The amount of cheaters entering the game with fresh accounts were getting higher than new players entering counter strike for their first time.

Valve noticed the problem and implemented the "Trust Factor". A hidden rating given to players for estimating the amount of "trust" valve has in you to not be cheating. Ridiculous as it sounds, the community accepted this as a foot in the right direction to stop cheating. Believe it or not the game did manage to isolate cheaters into their own servers and allow us good boys to play the game fairly.

But having good things is not what valve's about. Thanks to Valorant , a new FTP game, valve decides to copy their anti-cheating methods. Valve forcefully installed a snooping like software that checks out what's running on our computers while we play counter strike. This software would lower your trust factors if you had an old razor headphone drivers installed on your computer. Funny thing is this anti-cheating method was bypassed 15 minutes from launch when users noticed they can change certain game files and game textures that allow you to make smokes clear. These cheating methods were used for months by bad members in the community without any punishment, since both VAC and their copy cat anti-cheat could not detect them.

Now we come to the juicy bits. Today after a three hour long blackout from steam I can't play counter strike. There has been an ongoing VAC verification errors https://www.reddit.com/r/GlobalOffensive/comments/i4jaua/ongoing_vac_verification_errors/

Valve you had a great game and you went and ruined it. I can't believe I spent my past 5+ years playing CSGO only for you to rob me of my 15 dollars by making FTP and have you ruin it bit by bit every update. I can't give you anymore second chances you should be thrown in prison for ruining a great game.

UPDATE (09/04/2023) : FTP is here to stay and now with CS2 the game is getting worse and worse. However it's the best of the worst, so if you want to play a first person shooter, play this :P .

To adequately review this game I need to divide it into two sections.

The Community,

Insurgency Sandstorm has a small community, While playing this game for a few months I never saw the number of online players go above twenty thousand. The number of online players is usually around five thousand with some weekdays averaging in less than two thousand. With a community that small you are bound to meet the same people over and over again. Everyone knows that and are inclined to be less toxic than other fps games, CS. The players in this game add to the overall experience, since the game play is to an extant slow. Which brings me to the next section.

The Game Play,

MULTIPLAYER AGAINST HUMANS---If you have no patience in life don't play this gamemode. The game play is slow. Respawning can be from 30 seconds to two minutes. On the other hand, dying is real easy in this game if you have no patience and constantly push. The meta is waiting for someone to peak or run for you to get them. If you have the patience of waiting then this gamemode is for you.

MULTIPLAYER AGAINST BOTS---For those without patience this gamemode is made for you. It's capture the objectives with fighting of hordes of bots. This gamemode can be played normally or hardmode.

OVERALL TL;DR

Good game would buy again.

I absolutely love this game. In my opinion it is a fun indie game that has the potential of lasting hours of fun. It is a great break from RBG/shooting games. It’s especially great with little kids, also it is controller supported.
