This game is about Zale and Valere, two people raised as "Solstice Warriors".
Their duty is to serve Garl, the true main character of the story.

This game is uniquely its own. It's interesting to see a game with rhythm have you dodge notes instead of matching them, but it works! It's super fun! The pixel art is good enough on its own, but in battle the visuals will transform to be absolutely gorgeous and at some points, downright absurd. Fun characters, entertaining writing, and one hell of a story. Get ready to shmoove on 'em, baby!

An absolute love letter to fans of Paper Mario. This game boasts a great story with three main characters, each having strong writing and fun dynamics between each other as well as an amazing ensemble of lovable and recurring side characters that aid (or hinder) you along your journey.

The battle formula is familiar, but with a few tweaks and additions to make battling a bit more unique such as being able to relay one party member's turn to another or the mechanic that the party member in front has +1 Attack.

Badges also see a return in the form of Medals. Some of which have such a great design. The first of these that come to mind is the medal "Favorite One", which gives a party members -1 Defense, but gives your other party members +1 Attack when they take damage. Medals in Bug Fables give you options to customize a party members to a specific playstyle, which is a HUGE plus.

I have unlocked every achievement in Bug Fables: The Everlasting Sapling with absolutely no regrets and I hope Moonsprout Games eventually make time to develop a sequel. Just can't get enough of Team Snakemouth.

One hell of a story with a lot of seemingly small (or downright meaningless) decisions that all eventually come to serve some sort of purpose. There are a lot of fun side characters to interact with and Kim is a very fun straightedge character to a lot of the nonsense you're able to divulge in. Some of the most entertaining and dramatic moments are found in sidequests that, again, aren't even pushed on you to complete.

The skill checks present in the game add a lot of suspense in places you wouldn't expect in a story game. Usually in these types of games where stats are present, I would hard spec into one or two and have one or two awful stats, but I would highly recommend going into it blind with all four stats being 3 and spending points where you see fit as you play. Incredible game, would definitely recommend.
