In the current state the game is in I cannot recommend it, purely on the basis that it crashes way too often. Seems to be related to Nvidia display drivers in some way so whether this is because Nvidia needs to release new drivers (mine are up to date) or something with the game itself I'll leave in the middle. Either way, having it crash once every hour or so is unacceptable (during the tutorial in Mother's Heart it was more like once every 30 mins).

Having said that, when it's not crashing it runs pretty well with no real technical issues and the game looks stunning on an ultrawide with everything cranked up to maximum. The story, art direction and environment design are all excellent and when the issues are resolved I will ofcourse update the review accordingly as then it is absolutely worth the money.

edit 22/09/2020: As of the 1.05 patch, the crashes seem to have subsided. Performance has also improved so I'm going to change this to very much recommended now.

This is the kind of game that on the face of it doesn't sound like it should be fun but somehow is. The game as it currently stands is a far cry from when it launched back in 2012. The developer has made continuous improvements and refinements to the game whilst also adding extra countries as paid DLC. Most of them are really well made and if you feel like you haven't got enough countries yet, you can also check out Promods for even more countries. All in all, totally worth it, especially when it goes on sale for 5 euros.
