I had looked forward to this game when it was first announced, but decided to wait to pick it up which proved to be wise. Eventually though, I got a key very cheap on humble bundle and now having played around a bit, I'd say wait for more dlc if you want to play this game.

While I may only have about 12 hours as of writing I have played another paradox grand strategy well past 2000 hours and the difference was, that while I was so very new to the mechanics, the world felt rewarding to learn and it kept me hooked. I would often loose count of the hours while playing. This game however, leaves me painfully aware of the hour or so Id play at a time.

All this said, the game is gorgeous. The UI if not often intuitive is still a pleasure to browse with the small details like the sounds made when selecting or clicking with your cursor. I guess to shorten this it feels like Paradox crafted a beautiful stage for the player, but failed to put anything else that was compelling.

Fun, cute, with an enjoyable soundtrack. It's a nice game to play in short spurts and is very comfy.

It's a fun little action game that you play for the characters more than anything. Then again, if you're into the Neptunia series that's probably whtat you're here for.

A wonderful game that's hamstrung by terrible online function.

I loved the first game, I love this game, when it actually works. Levels are clearly designed around co-op, yet most days I'm lucky to get through a level with just a single disconnect. It wouldn't be a problem if the game allowed players to wait to reconnect but it kicks you from the game instead. I can't tell you how many times we were on the last wave with a perfect game, only to dc and have to start over.

Because of the connection issues, I can't recommend this game, I checked the forums and this is an issue they've been aware of for YEARS.

Stick with the first game or check out unchained, it may be buggin but at least being in beta it has an excuse.

Purchased this on sale, and after playing it I would say it's well worth full price. It's a great game to just jump in for a bit or for hours.

Fun time killer, quick and easy to get into, just like the girls. If only geting laid were as easy as in this game, I wouldn't have an anime girl avatar.

I'll start by reaffirming what others have said, if you enjoyed Neptunia then you will enjoy this game. I'm almost at the end so I may change some things upon completion but I'll just note how I feel so far.

Story: It's nothing to write home about, the plot twists and the like are really obvious. That being said, just like in Neptunia it is really the characters that make the story enjoyable. The humor is good, and unlike some Rebirth 2, it doesn't really use whole lot of memes. The character interactions are fun and Tsunako is responsible for their designs which is always great in my opinion.

Gameplay: Again, see Neptunia. There can be a lot of grind depending on what you're trying to do but if you just play through you should have no trouble. In fact, the only time I felt there was a difficulty spike was on certain side missions when attempting to get extra furies. You have your level ups, increasing the strength of each character but beyond that there is the Weapon Points system, which allows you to choose extra stat bonuses as well as customize progression through choices in combo moves, as well as extending both combos and weapon range. The fury system serves the duel purpose of prividing both character boosts through stat upgrades as well as allowing you to change each area in subtle but noticable ways. You could increase both the weapons points gained while at the same time doubling the damage BOTH you and your enemies put out. Depending on how you use them, you can speed up some of the grind in game.

Controls: I mainly played with an Xbox 360 controller. Despite this the controls were very repsonsive. I only add this because I recently went through the PS3 version of Neptunia Victory and found the controls to be somehat lagging in comparison. I breifly used KB+M to get a feel in that regard, and for the short time I used them if felt just as good.

Music: Enjoyable, like most jrpg's if you like em the music is usually good, and Compile Heart always does well in that regard.

If you typically enjoy a lot of the jrpg's that have been coming out lately, you'll no doubt find this a charming and enjoyable game. I've still yet to beat it so I can't say much for replay value, but judging from what I've played it doesn't seem like there could be much, at least until more of the DLC is released. It's worth the time and for those still on the fence, if you catch it on sale like I did, it is more than worth the money. Between the characters, story, and gameplay, you'll find a very comfy rpg.

I'm going to preface this by saying the game itself is fun and enjoyable. That being said, with the recent controversy around paid mods and the way Steam has handled them has left a bad taste for many. I don't mind creators reaping rewards but the way Steam did it is terrible and destroys both community and customer experience. That coupled with the fact that I did not purchase this game on Steam, it came with the anthology and forced me to use this service with them. Now for many this may not be a big deal but I speak only relative to my experience and how this has affected my enjoyment of the game. I had played this game before on the 360 but wanted to try PC for the mods of course. Now neither the mods or steam exclusivity would be enough personally but together they foul up my experience. I don't want to support a service that's so quick to make a poor decision like this that also holds a game I payed for bound to their service. I also no longer want to support Bethesda or their parent company who only allowed the PC version of their game to be usable on steam.
