Very Disappointing game, even though I'm not a huge fan of the art style I still attempted to play this game. Unfortunately the art style was the least of my concerns. The game felt as though it was trying to capitalize on familiar characters yet it lacked the witty dialogue from the original games and good voice acting of the remastered games. It was just not doing it for me. The original monkey island games had good memorable characters, unexpected humor and weird puzzles which this game seems to lack. The whole thing felt like a game aimed towards young children or a new fan base and maybe that's what they were going for, however I think most of their player base is people who remembered and have played the originals. Overall I just think this game lacks the charm and character of the first two games.

There is a patch that adds the voice acting from the SE's to the original first two games. Which is what I played before this steaming pile of shit came out. There is also voice acting in COMI, EMI and Tales. And yes, I did play the originals without voice acting when they first came out in the 90's.

The only thing more disappointing than this game is seeing what horrible, sad people enjoy the same series that I have loved for 30 years, and how willing they are to put down people who speak their honest mind.

Ignore the toxic fanboys. Nothing wrong with reviewing after a short first impression. I only played 22 mins, plenty of time to see that this game ain't for me despite being a huge MI fan. 1st act of a game should be the best part, to hook you. What I witnessed was a rushed nostalgia cash-in. Your review matched my sentiment completely. I don't know who they made this game for. Clearly kids are not the right demographic, but who else? Left click and right click are the only options? Way to dumb down the genre, it's supposed to be hard. Might as well just watch a playthrough on youtube for all the challenge that presents. Worst part is Ron talked so much trash on the MI games released after 2, but this is the worst one by far. Prologue was awful. Rewriting the parents as random people? Rewriting young Guybrush as Guybrush's kid, and then continuously cutting back to storytime between father and son? I won't so blinded by nostalgia to accept that. They massacred my boy.
