Who knew my dream coworker was a snarky AI named Ada? Satisfactory turns factory building into an oddly calming chaos, with Ada cheerfully reminding me of my incompetence at every step. If you love efficiency, exploration, and being roasted by a sarcastic voice in your ear, this game is a must-play. 10/10 would let Ada judge my conveyor belts again.

Stanley arrived at his office building as usual, but to his surprise, the doors were unlocked, and no one was inside. He wandered through the empty cubicles and offices, looking for any sign of his co-workers, but it seemed that he was completely alone.

At first, Stanley was confused and a bit worried. He wondered if there was a memo or email that he had missed, announcing a company holiday or closure. But as he searched through his emails and checked his phone, he found no messages or notifications.

Feeling a bit lonely and uncertain, Stanley decided to take a break and grab a cup of coffee from the break room. As he entered the room, he saw his best friend waiting for him on the counter - the bucket he used for cleaning coffee he spilled on his desk.

Stanley smiled, feeling a bit relieved to have some company, even if it was just a shiny metal bucket. He sat down at the table, sipping his coffee and chatting with the bucket about the strange situation.

"I don't know what's going on," Stanley said, shaking his head. "It's like everyone disappeared."

The bucket remained silent, but Stanley felt comforted by its presence nonetheless. He decided to make the best of the situation and explore the empty office building, with the bucket as his trusty sidekick.

Together, they wandered through the hallways and explored the various floors of the building. They found some interesting things - a stash of office supplies in a storage closet, a collection of funny photos on a co-worker's desk, and even an old dartboard in the break room.

As the day wore on, Stanley began to feel more and more at ease with his new situation. He realized that he was enjoying the peace and quiet, and the chance to explore the office building without any interruptions or distractions.

And through it all, the bucket remained by his side, a constant companion in an otherwise strange and empty world. In the end, Stanley decided that he and the bucket could handle anything, as long as they had each other.

You need to play this game! It's free... just play it ;-) Hints to make the game more enjoyable, have the folder open for the game where all the files are located (most likely C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Doki Doki Literature Club) and don't forget to save! Also when you get to the ending start a new game ;-)

Updated Reiew: I've changed my review from a thumbs down to a thumbs up. I still think that there are a lot of things that could improve the game itself and believe that the game isn't for everyone, as the game is more like flashcard memorisation with music than a game which will teach you the Japanese alphabets. There is nothing wrong with this if you want to use it to supplement learning the language in school or your own self studies but it's not really geared towards everyone.

As someone who already knows both Hiragana and Katakana here are my thoughts on the gameplay itself:

Pro:
  • Simplistic play style
  • Great for learning to memorise characters once you have learned what they are
  • Developer fixing issues/updating the game
  • Game runs perfectly with no crashing or errors

Con:
  • Gives Japanese characters but seems to forget to tell you what the English letter equivalent for it is. You can get the sounds if you click on the characters in the pre-mission screen but would be better to see the written letters. Also been reported an issue if you are using a controller that you can't get the sounds, you must have a mouse currently to do this.
  • Too much emphasis on memorising patterns of characters instead of teaching the characters themselves
  • Soundtrack is OK but the SFX are not great, feeling like they will get on your nerves after a couple of hours play. Thankfully you can turn the sound completely off if you feel this way.
  • Not enough notice given on which characters go to which keys (it randomly changes with each pattern) making the game unnecessarily difficult
  • Katakana tutorial is the exact same as the Hiragana one (didn't even bother to change characters to Katakana)

If you had more notice on which keys were for which characters, slower tempo for earlier levels to give people who are new to the language more time to adjust to the characters and less emphasis on what the pattern is after it's been flashed to you then the game might be ok but as it is now, it's not great.
