Incredibly fun and well-made combat system in a game that the devs refuse to work on. This is a live service game, but we have not had a new weapon (not counting the "marks" where it is a slight edit) OR map since last December.

The only thing that actually gets updated it is the FOMO cosmetic shop, and funnily enough at this point they are just selling ugly mash-ups and recolors of existing cosmetics. We also have a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ RNG lottery machine system for gear, to try and inflate playtime (because they never add anything)

Game has very fun combat and is worth buying on sale but is not worth $70. It effectively has 20 hours of content that is padded out by the lack of movement options causing you to go over the same areas again and again. Game is less of a sequel and more of a remake of DD1 WITHOUT ANYTHING WHICH WAS ADDED FROM DD:DA.

Game has no HM/BBI equivalent (from DD1), and monsters do not scale, so NG is a joke because you insta-kill everything. Infact, after the first 2 hours the difficulty jumps straight off a cliff and nothing other than the Drakes can even damage you. Again no BBI equivalent so there is nothing to do but repeat story.

There is next to no enemy variation. You will fight the same enemy in both zones, and there are only like ~20 enemy types in the entire game. Enemies are also heavily densed, so you will fight like 3 goblins every 5 feet.

Story is somehow worse than DD1, with very poor narrative and pacing. When the story appears to start picking up is when you are like 2 missions away, there is no "middle" to the story as it goes from early to the very end. Somehow we still don't have actual romance quests in a game where one of the main driving factors of the dragon's bargain is kidnapping the romance interest, which is crazy. At best you get 2 1-time cutscenes with 2 female NPCs.

Grigori, The Dragon in Dragon's Dogma, has incredibly good cutscenes and build up with one of the worst fights in all of gaming history. Dude is somehow weaker than the Drakes and then will proceed to fly around for literal minutes while you stare up waiting for him to come down (if you try to use the ballista he will breath fire on you and destroy it, as it makes your turning speed to like 0.00001%).

Overall very disappointed because it's effectively DD1 w/o DD:DA and just given a new coat of paint. Not only did they not expand on anything, they couldn't even be bothered to add things from DD:DA that are even the basic essentials like a HM.

*spoiler alert*

The true ending zone is cool and adds a few new enemy variations and gear, but is poorly thought out. Zone is timed...and it takes time to respawn the monsters to fight them again. There are like 5 bosses and they all have the same mechanic, and like 3 of them I swear use almost the same exact model.

This is one of the worst video games I have ever played in my life.

I have passed kidney stones more enjoyable than this game.

It feels like a poorly made G-mod zombie server based loosely on SCP than an actual SCP game.

Did not give me items. Worse still, it gave me duplicates of the winter gift boosters so now we will see if DE looks down on my pitiful account before banning.

Game literally looks and plays like a 4k Dark Souls II. Like all of the animations are as jank as DS2 animations and has none of the nostalgic charm DS2 has (actually I think DS2 has better quality animations that sync properly to movement, unlike the foot slide on swing this game has). Gonna refund this game and get LoP.

Like to give a special shoutout to the running 2h animation with little to no upper body movement, pretty sure Skyrim modders had a better animation in 2015.

One of the most mid games I have ever played, and I just got Lords of the Fallen.

At least the armor in the battlepass/store look cool, because none of the base game stuff does.

Solid souls-like shooter game with a very active dev team who have planned for more DLC and are adding free QOL updates to the game, but with a few major caveats to consider before getting the game:

1. Runs are randomly generated, don't expect everything to be hand-placed like in Fromsoft titles because it won't be. This includes bosses having modifiers (from health and damage increase to new abilities/teleportation).

2. The RNG nature means the game will not respect your time. For instance if you want a certain ring/amulet, you may be stacking RNG on RNG (e.g. re-rolling your world to have a chance of having an area which has a chance of having an area that has the item you want; re-rolling a world to get two certain zones to spawn which takes 60-80% of the run to confirm whether the zones spawn or not).

Seems like a pretty cool game; unplayable for new players because it only has one place for loot and everyone takes 5x less damage than you and has better guns. Not to mention when you do actually win somehow, you cannot carry any items with you.

Also doesn't seem like destroying other people's ships does anything, as they just use the escape pod and shooting the ship 20 times doesn't explode it and kill them or anything.
