Genuinely awful

Pros
-Extremely satisfying physics/handling. Drifting is like cutting butter that's been sitting out in a little dish for a couple hours, smooth as ♥♥♥♥.
-The Nissan Skyline. My personal favorite car IRL. Honestly don't even bother picking up any other car of any tier. The real protagonist of this game isn't your faceless stock photo stunt driver man, it's this sexy ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ car.
-The soundtrack bangs (first time I ever heard Genesis by Justice, perfect racing music).

Cons
-The story/IRL cinematic cutscenes make me want to eat lead. The acting is D list movie tier, the cutscenes are unskippable, and 2/3 of the cast look like they're auditioning for NSYNC.
-Story missions usually suck big time unless they're just straight up races.
-The AI seemingly has 2 modes, brain-dead or nearly flawless.
-Open world is dead and has very little to do other than instanced events. Nothing to see other low res buildings/mountains/traffic, and nothing to do other than get chased by cops.

Overall
A personal favorite of mine (obvious if you've seen my disgusting hour count). I do have a bad case of "nostalgia goggles" though, and I accept that this game is pretty deeply flawed and definitely not for everyone. If you don't really care about any of the cons and are just here for the racing though, I'd encourage giving Undercover a try. If you aren't sold 100& but still interested, it goes on sale pretty often, and right now it's half off for $5 which is absolutely worth it in my opinion.

6/10, some of the most satisfying driving NFS has to offer IMO, but otherwise a pretty lackluster game.

One of the best games ever made. Periodt.
