It's fun, I don't know. It also runs a whole lot better than it did last time, and I hope that we get some free Corite on release like we got for this.

As long as min-maxing Mods isn't excessively important, and monetization long-term isn't Pay-to-Win, I really don't see much wrong here. It's too early to tell how long unlocking customization will take, but I would like to see it be reasonable.

I love it.
It's Resident Evil Outbreak and Typing of the Dead in one package.

It's silly good fun, and we're on a shortage of typing games. There's enough here for this type of game to be really enjoyable, with characters that are distinct from one another and survival horror elements. With a handful of levels with more to come, and layouts that change each time you play, I can't really complain about what this game is going for. I really just want more.

However, there is one MAIN thing I dislike about this game and it is that every mission's primary objective is the same. Given its strong parallels to Resident Evil Outbreak, I just can't understand the choice to only ever collect red tapes to fix the elevator. It would make the levels more exciting and interesting/unique, while I'd also imagine that it'd make developing levels easier since there would be more freedom to create diverse themes and objectives.

The few remaining complaints that I have about the game are the character designs being a little weird, and the fact that the characters don't seem to have unique roles in the story.

Drawing the comparison to Outbreak, I'd like to see characters getting unique roles to play in specific scenarios and actual cutscenes that pertain to those characters. It can feel a little bland not having more context on who these characters are, and Outbreak did a great job at that with special events and scenario ending cutscenes for each character.

Really, I think that more cutscenes in general would make this game really special. It would help further sell the fact that we're playing through a horror movie together.

I really hope this game continues to develop and grow, because co-op survival horror with a twist is something I didn't expect to see but always wanted. I really can't overstate how much better this game would be with disjointed scenarios instead of this strict tape and elevator theme.

I couldn't beat it myself, but a friend of mine loved it. I was with them the whole way.

It's a uniquely fascinating, utterly horrible and depressing game in all the right ways. It might be a little difficult, but I think it plays into its unique narrative and expression it wants to place on the character. I think Mr Pink has done an incredible job at representing the story they want to portray without pulling any punches.

Does it make a good 'game' that people will typically enjoy? No, but that's why games like this need to exist. I think it creates an experience that literally no other game out there will ever give you. It just so happens that experience is what it feels like to be in the pits of hell, struggling to claw your way back out. It's incredible, but sadly won't be appreciated since it's not what people are typically looking for in a game.

Well, looks like another game ruined by giant companies who don't care, and indies who have lost their passion for making independent games. It doesn't take an expert on games to know that Gearbox is morally bankrupt, and it's evident with how badly they've ruined this title with just a single update, in every way possible.

Ultimately it's entirely Hopoo's fault for not protecting their pride and joy. What a waste.

No Colour Master mode made this purchase feel totally pointless.

Odd, clunky, and unwieldy- but most of all, misunderstood. It's rather good. I held off of playing this for years thinking it was a mess because of other reviews, but there's something really unique here.

This game has a lot going for it if you're willing to give it a chance beyond the first couple hours. This game eases you into things with the tactility of a brick. If you're the sort of people who likes games that tries interesting things to tie together a bunch of unconventional mechanics and experiment/explore, there's a lot that this game has to offer beneath its quirky exterior that begs to be discovered.

That said, the game will not hold your hand in the slightest. It absolutely wants you to get invested and learn through your travels, not spoon-feed you game mechanics on a platter. Seek out knowledge from the NPCs, be experimental with your crafting, read all the descriptions, and always be on the lookout for new Skills to learn from trainers once you know how to look for them. Be mindful that the travelling and the journey IS the game. Dying isn't the end, and loosely going where the wind takes you will make this a much more enjoyable time.

Bring a friend with you, keep an open mind, and don't treat this game like other games that look similar because it really is doing something different- for better or worse. Also, block a lot. It's really good.

I think this game is extremely underrated, and doesn't have nearly enough talk going on about it. At its core, it's like Animal Crossing had a full-frontal collision with a Tycoon game, and it's everything I've ever wanted. WITH splitscreen co-op, and online co-op coming later.

Seriously, it is shaping up to be one of the most exciting and fleshed out town-building games ever. If you're even remotely a fan of Animal Crossing or bounced off at the lack of depth in Animal Crossing, this really does an incredible job. It can only really get better from here, and I'm hoping for long-term support because it really looks like it could be something special with the right treatment.

There's still a number of expected features from a game like this that are missing, but I have high hopes that they'll do well moving forward. Seriously, just give it a go and see if you get swept away by it.

It's a short and free dose of nostalgia. It's got its jank and there's really not much to it, but it's a nice little thing.

It's remarkable how enjoyable this game is. I came from the sequel to try it out and am in awe how thoughtful the equipment (even the vehicles) included are when it comes to the purpose/role they play, the fun of the upgrade system that lets you make your favourite equipment stronger and more fun to use, and just how powerful yet outnumbered we are. Being able to play all this on the same screen both locally and online, it's an easy recommendation for a fun time in short-ish bursts.

This game is really good, taking full advantage of its limitations to create something a bit special.

It really captures the essence of "outnumbered but never outgunned".

Early Access Review
With a perfect blend of Half-Life, System Shock, and a light dose of horror (quite a bit, if you play alone), this game captures what people love about the Crafting Survival genre with the cohesiveness and quality of a more linear narrative-based game. Don't get me wrong here, though, it's far from limited in scope. It's seriously good and not short by any means- the opposite, actually.

This game does just about everything right. The level design is expansive and interwoven, the enemies are diverse with unique strategies, the weapons are weird and creative, the story is genuinely unique while playfully building off its inspirations, and despite being an Early Access title there's no time padding whatsoever to this game. Crafting recipes are perfectly reasonable, and prior area-specific resources only become more accessible as you progress. No padding.

Every area and situation can be approached in so many different ways, and you have the freedom of building as much as you want, wherever you want- the game will facilitate it and provide you (sometimes later on) with the tools you need to play the game the way you want to. When a problem or challenge arises, you can bet that you're getting a solution to it, but only after you've tackled it head-on. The writing is clever, while dialogue, combat and horror sequences never overstay their welcome. The world they've created here is genuinely fascinating, and has left us in sheer curiosity almost everywhere we go.

Sometimes, it really feels like they looked at everything and they asked themselves, "You know what would be cool?" and then added it to the game. It isn't even done yet and I've gotten more mileage and pure joy out of this game than so many other fully released titles.

Seriously, just pick it up. Don't even hesitate. Just get it and grab a friend or two, even though it supports more than that. I recommend a close group of 3. Go it alone for a spooky time.
