The game is decent but lacks the singleplayer campaign that the previous games had, the game also lacks most of the features of the previous games.

Most factions that get released are hidden behind season passes so dont expect to play your favourite faction from day one.

I would like to start by saying i did download Troy when it came out and played max 10 hours and hated every minute of it.
This now leads me onto this game, for the first 5 hours this game was relatively enjoyable until you realise you have already played all the content the game offers.

One of the most frustrating issues i found with the game was ranged units like archers and javelin throwers would charge into melee every time you issued an order to fire, this has now been announced as fixed in the patch notes but due to the lack of content i have not returned to the game to test if it really is fixed.

Unit variety is shocking, all characters under the same faction (3 total factions) share the same units, for cavalry you get chariots... yep that's it, i wish i could tell you there is variations of chariots but no its just 1 type.
Archers have better armoured versions but even then you only get 3 different types.
Infantry is abit better but still only has a couple of each type, for example spearmen have 2-3 different armoured types, "charger units" have 1 type, sword infantry have either a khopesh or generic sword but can either have a shield or not.

In regards to the world map, it feels like a good size but after you take a handful of settlements it just feels like your taking more settlements just for the sake of doing so as the AI makes little effort to declare wars on you if you build your force alongside your faction growth.

The start can be hard if you are a newer TW player as the AI either dog piles you or leaves you alone leaving you to declare war on multiple allied foe.

The AI has a tendancy to max out a 20 stack army within a couple turns of the start which means you have to match it or play very smart, if you are a new TW player this will be be annoying as you cannot afford a 20 stack army at the start.

From what im told a bunch of the battle maps come from Troy which isn't the biggest issue but could annoy the bigger TW buffs.

The trait system for Generals feels bland and lacks creativity, you have 3 different types of level spec buffs which are decent but you have to collect a specific amount of them to unlock traits, in my opinion almost all of the traits worthless, you might like 1-2 of them but the rest will never be used.

General equipment is a cool system but unfortunately limits your customisation as you will rarely get items you will want to use, for example if you start with an bow wielding hero it could take you 10s of hours to get a sword due to the RNG nature of the loot system.
You are better off just sticking with what you got as it makes very little difference but to the way your hero feels completely not special, CA probably should of kept the system used in 3 kingdoms where your general was 1 hero who could duel and make a significant difference in a battle.
Your hero in combat is just as good as the units around it which in the sense of realism its a cool feature but unfortunately we all expect hero's to be a strong unique force that leads the charge not the one you hide in the back in hopes that the enemy general dies first so that their army routes first due to a lack of morale.

The diplomacy system is basic, it is very rare that the AI will accept your offers but will send you random offers from time to time that do not benefit you at all. For example they might offer you 1000 food for 100 gold when you already have 50k food and 100 gold.

The Political Feature this game has to work your way up to pharaoh is in the bluntest sense pointless, you essentially spend time collecting influence just to spend it spreading gossip about other characters for negligible gains such as increasing their opinion of you or a small amount of gold.
The best buff you get from this is access to special units which are not that special nor that good, the best unit i got was more heavily armoured shield infantry who die just as quick as any other infantry you can recruit for half the cost.

I wish i could talk about the Pharaoh hat system but i have not made it that far and don't wish too.

If you are a new TW player this game will be fun and interesting but for anyone that has played previous games you will not enjoy this game, if you do it wont last long.

I have played almost all the TW games and have thousands of hours played but have only managed 14 hours in this game due to me and my friend having no motivation to get back in as we feel we have already experienced all this game has to offer, alot of people are saying this game is essentially a Troy DLC and i might have to agree, hopefully future DLC's make up for the lack of current content the game has. Until then i will not be returning to this game.

I Pre orders this game and was really excited for its launch but after a 3 hours session i found myself playing more sessions because my mate wanted to keep playing rather than me wanting to keep going.

Fun game but lacks content, once you have a decent size ship that can beat all the ships and stations in the first system then you basic just make your ship bigger and bigger and thats it for content.

if your looking to play a game this is not it, it lacks content as it is currently locked out at lvl 4 and has more bugs and glitches than a game should be allowed to release with. Do not buy this game till its price is halved or it is actually finished.
