The Cat Lady is a rather dark horror game both in style and writing. A thoughtful story of a woman going through depression, and finding the will to live on, all with a supernatural twist.

I feel like this game is best enjoyed blind with little knowledge of what is to come beforehand, but do note the sensitive topics in question before starting, as is the same of any horror game, but a little more on the emotional end this time I feel.

This is honestly one of my favorite games ever, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a game with a good story.

A lot of people like to throw around the word "rougelike" for these type of games, and sure the term might be evolving into something else, but this game is not a roguelike. This game has a random generation aspect to it which is pretty good. The different sectors you go to are randomized, and all of the different lovations in these sectors will greet you with some interesting diologue, and more often than not some strategic space ship combat.

This is where the game really shines. The combat system they have used for this game works incredibly well combined with the random generation aspect of it. You will very rarely be using the exact same ship twice in a row, regardless of what it might seem like initially. The combat system allowes you to focus on whatever type of combat you want to defeat the rebel scum (among other naughty space baddies). Want to pass through the enemy's shields? No problem! Want to have a crew of combat ready Mantis people invade your enemy's ship? No problem! Want to make your enemies fight themselves!? No problem! All of the various part and pieces you can outfit your ship with allow you to use whatever meathod of combat you want.

This game is a strategy game, no if's, and's, or but's. It takes a certian level of skill to play on the harder difficulties, while the easy levels will still require some form of higher thinking to defeat any compatent foe. Throughout the game you will have to decide how to efficiently use your recources (fuel, missles, drones, and scrap). Scrap is your currency in this game and it will determine whether you upgrade your shields, or buy that really cool looking cloaking device from the shop, or maybe the hacking module, oh, or maybe... well... you get the idea. As you battle other ships, your ship will of course take damage, and how you deal with this damage is up to you! You will have to manage your crew members and make competent decisions on whether to keep your pilot at the helm in order to increas your evasion, or put out that fire that just burst out in your engine room.

If you are looking for a really different and unique ship combat style then look no further, because this is the game for you. I whole heartedly recommend this game, I have spend a good amount of time playing it both on my computer, and on my iPad. This game will have you coming back, with its awesome combat system, large variety of enemies, playable ships, and weapons, and all manner of quirky and hilarious diologue.

I don't much care to give our scores, but I will anyway and say that for me, this game rates an honest 8.5/10.
