This game was a huge part of my childhood, & I wanted to let anybody stopping by here who doesn't already know, the original dev is working on rebuilding the game from the ground up. You can find info on it on their website, youtube & twitch

Unique take on a genre pretty overflooded with the same concepts, really hope they win the lawsuit :(

Don't get me wrong, I love the game.
But having corrupted files after every major update which causes *even steam* to freeze & I have to close it with task manager?
Having to completely reinstall the game after that, which sometimes doesn't even work?
Having to restart on modded nitrado servers because most mods completely break after each update?
Coupled with the trajectory this game is heading with paid adventure packs having pay-to-win elements like the oasisaur, & constantly pushing back map releases.
My friends on console losing hundreds of hours in progress to a save bug that's existed since launch.
All for what? Slightly prettier ark with a single map?
When 95% of your playerbase can't even run the game on anything higher than medium settings with good pc's?
It's an atrocious look when MMOs respect your time more than a survival game does.
Tl;dr wildcard & snail games don't deserve the loyalty & benefit of the doubt their fans grant them.

Update as of Jan 2025:
Still enjoy the game, still can't recommend it to people outside of a sale.
I don't exactly understand why the snow biome on the center needed changed into a desert. Given well, penguin palace (a building made of ice) is surrounded by sand.
Volcano island is more of a jungle than anything, which would've looked cool on one of the islands near it, but I digress.
I hope they redo the center, but I'm doubtful. The other overhauls were pretty good, they did Aberration really well.
The fact this game's been out for how long (wanting monetization mind you) & still doesn't have a favorite system is laughable.
That being said, if you play ASE & play modded, I'd recommend grabbing ASA just because of how good the modding scene is. Main reason I play.

I don't know, I get that I only put in an hour of playtime, but the game just didn't grab me. Didn't have anything that made it pop or stand out, just seems like a really bland 2d soulslike. The artstyle of the game's pretty phenomenal, so I'm disappointed. Felt incredibly linear & wasn't a huge fan of the combat either.

I enjoyed it on mobile, and it's pretty good on here as well.

I suffered through anime tiddies for achievements, and it was worth it.
