The games really feels like a very good upgrade over dragon's dogma 1 which already had a cool gameplay.

To start of : I don't care about the microtransaction part : it's a solo game, you don't need to buy anything at all, it's easy to know that if you played to the previous game.

The performance issue is quite a problem tho, but to me the games runs decently with my 2070 so i've seen worse.

No the issue comes with the saving system they've put in the game.
There's 2 type of reloading. You can reload your last manual/auto save, or reload at the last "safe save" :
The last safe save is the last time you slept at an inn. So if you explore the game, mostly sleeping outside etc.. your last "safe save" will be very far away. I didn't know it could go this far back.
The game killed my manual save for no reason (i explored a bit yesterday, cleared an area, saved and quit the game) : when i came back this morning my character was "dying on reload" and kept dying over and over. It's not normal since i "saved and quit" the game with my character safe, mostly full HP and with his 2 feet on the ground.
It forced me to reload "the safe save" which was basically in my 2 first hours of gameplay, because i mostly rested outside with the camp stuff.

5 hours of gameplay is not the worse people got, but for people like me with little time to play theses days, it's a lot.
