but the game is overall enjoyable.. really hoping they put some work into the server lists / character settings.

great experience if you find a good server and know what you are doing; highly recommend for survival fans

I very much enjoyed my play through of this game. Truly a masterpiece.
Played entirely on the steam deck too, just had to configure some things.

Forewarned: a game with so much potential.

The 'discover and banish' archetype of games has boomed; Phasmophobia pretty much starting that.
This game is very similar to Phasmo, Ghost Watchers, Demonologist... but screw ghosts, we are in Egypt! With mummies! Dead Pharaohs! I love the setting of this game and the constant busy feel - you don't really have time to be bored. The game sessions are comfortably lengthy, making a successful run feel that much better.
The puzzles are well-made and difficult, which is good for anyone's brain lol. Puzzle solving is a big unique add that this game has, but others like it don't.
Continuing on, when I experienced the tombs, wow. The graphics had a big spike. Honestly stunning tombs, booby traps, special effects.. I was impressed!
The game really isn't easy, and you have a lot of options to choose your experience. Right off the bat you have more maps than Phasmo which is really, really cool.

Though I like it and do recommend it, that doesn't mean I don't have some complaints...

The UI is kind of.. how do I put it.. atrocious? Maybe it's just my eyes of high standards but when a menu looks like it was typed with the most default kind of design, with no personality or uniqueness, it's a turn off. That is one of the first things I noticed in the game and I'm not gonna lie, it scared me. That and the hilarious posture of your avatar.

Another thing is.. the banish ritual is pretty dull. It isn't hard in the slightest, it is actually the most boring part of the game. I think that adding some more challenging tasks or a mix up of experiences with the differing Mejai could make a huge difference. I love the puzzle portion, but the end all when you are banishing is a loss for me.

All in all, the game is cheap and well made. It isn't perfect, but I hope the devs keep up the good work and add their touch. I enjoyed my time with it and will definitely come back as I see updates!
