Very good co-op game! Deep Rock Galactic works best when playing with friends or online matchmaking. Fighting your way through hordes of cryptid monsters in randomly generated cave systems while trying to complete various objectives is good, hectic fun.

The game switches things up well with a bunch of different mission types, weekly assignments, cosmetics and weapons to collect. The game also has a charming low-poly art style and runs very well.

You can also buy your mates a beer that gives a buff before a mission, what’s not to love? Highly recommended as a pick-up-and-play shooter with some buddies.

Ultrakill is a fast-paced retro-style twitch shooter. You’ll know very quickly if you’re the target audience for this game.

One of the quirks of this game is a style meter. The way Ultrakill is designed rewards constantly switching weapons. All of which are useful in their unique way, and have two firing modes. The 'blood is power' mechanic complements this very well. You’ll regain health if you’re next to an enemy when they take damage, encouraging you to run around and get close to enemies, using your melee skill as well. The combination of these two will make you dash around quickly, exploding hordes of hellish enemies while switching weapons on the fly and throwing a nuclear punch in there for good measure. Add the amazing soundtrack in there, and Ultrakill becomes quite the ecstatic experience.

Seriously, this game has a bangin' soundtrack, my favorite being the Cybergrind theme.

Well worth your time if you're looking for a quick high-energy FPS you can pick up and put down at your leisure.

A very beginner-friendly rogue-like card game. Starting out from a simple deck, you work your way up the Spire to… slay it, finding new cards along the way that determine your build. This, alongside each character offering a unique mechanic that changes up your playstyle, offers a good amount of variety in between runs.
Once you get the hang of it and start completing runs, there’s Ascension levels, which increase the difficulty and keep things interesting.

The game is turn-based and not very demanding in terms of performance, which makes it ideal to play when you have to constantly alt+tab in and out. I would highly recommend this if you’re looking for a laid-back rogue-like to play during breaks.
