After playing through The Witcher 3 and having read the books, I decided to give the first Witcher a shot. I actually liked the combat neverminding its repetitiveness. Though the only reason I wanted to play through this game was due to the story, so I could get a bit more background on the characters and get an understanding of the references the returning characters make in the later games... The game can feel somewhat clunky at first, especially in the prologue and the first chapter, but it's something that I later grew to love about this game. The characters and (side) quests are really memorable. It's -85% off right now so I'd say it's definitely worth your money, you'll get at the very least ~20 hours out of this game.

It's a decent card game.
