Pros

• Airport management itself is simple. You get some basic policies to enforce and a surprising amount of customisation
• The new airports themselves look good with the rest of the game.
• More ways to organise cargo and shipments is always a good plus in these DLCs
• New Non airport Buildings look clean and can be used across the city. I’ve used the new Hotel everywhere and the aviation museum looks good with the previous Train and boat museums.
• Cargo roads and new Buses are small additions but add to the complexity

Cons:

• All the taxiways are 1 way. You have to create a entire system of 1 way taxiways across the airport for it to be functional. A 2 way taxiway would go a long way in helping with design.
• 2 the Metro stations just don’t fit in architecturally with the airports they serve. They look like leftovers from the last transport DLC.
• The Previous airport is untouched in its own separate tab. Why keep the 2 airports apart?
• The Airport zoning tool terraforms the land automatically. I had to go back and retroactively rebuild any natural landmarks next to the Airport because the Zoning erased it.
• The control tower is decoration only. Seems like a missed opportunity.
• You cant add Bus stops onto the new roads for some reason. I understand that the roads are primarily for Cargo but I cant make my bus depot a part of the Big industrial area.

Overall This DLC was the definition of mediocrity. Its fine as a expansion and makes the gameplay fresh but it cannot stand alone at all. Would recommend if you have at minimum the “Mass transit” DLC because its heavily linked with that DLCs transport system.

if you want a simple to understand City simulation game with almost infinite possibilities and tonnes of replay value then you've come to the right place. but if you want to take it a few steps further and go insane with skyscrapers and tsunamis you better get your wallet ready. its a stellar game out of the box and ive sunk countless hours into it with only 2 DLCs , but like every paradox game the parts that make it perfect are trapped behind paywalls

Early Access Review
Deleted the old review so i could fairly rewrite this almost a decade after buying (16/4/23). Because this game means so much to me and i had to make a accurate retrospective.

let me paint the picture first. I was shown this game by a friend back in 2015 when i was about 10/11 and the game was in Alpha. I played it at his house, loved it, saw it was on early access on a site called "Steam" and instantly found out what a "Reddit" and "Tumblr" was so i could follow the game updates. This game connected me to the internet when i found some Parkitect YouTubers, and that Christmas i got my first laptop with Parkitect installed. For me, this is my Minecraft, or FNAF, Or one of the myriad of other Trend indie games from the mid 2010s (but unlike those games, this never saw mainstream popularity, it died a slow death as its Devs moved on and Planet coaster/The revival of the actual roller coaster tycoon games took its player-base)

I have 4000 Hours, and although a sizeable portion of that was dumb kid me leaving the Laptop on overnight, i don't regret a single second of the insane amount of joy and comfort this Game has given me over the years. Simple to learn yet with many complex features, this game is still engaging to me now as a adult, whilst i construct a fully detailed Alton towers Recreation with a Billion small tips and tricks about colour contrast and using shapes for details, as it was in 2015, when i didn't know what the Track resize tool was and half the names were spelled wrong (Don't check out my Workshop its a mess). These small indie developers created this game as a love letter to Roller coaster tycoon, and i can confidently say that they perfectly captured the magic of original for a new generation and expanded on it perfectly.

This game isn't perfect, and honestly i don't really know if i can recommend it in 2023, i don't think the average person will get as much enjoyment out of this as they will with its more popular Brother, The isometric camera and grid system will always be its biggest limitation and both should be Optional. However purely based on the enjoyment this game has given me, i can't not recommend it (Just be prepared to download a billion mods to fix every issue and add every coaster type the game is missing if you want to enjoy it long term)
