This game can be a lot of fun in the first few hours, even more fun with friends, but when you start to see the disgusting and repetitive usage of perks and items(meta), this game start to slowly fade away from fun to torture, even more if you are playing with Killer.

We basically have a really fun game with really, reaaaally bad balancing, devs are pratically blind with their own game besides their memes and DLC/cosmetic shop, even some of their cosmetics are bugged/bad(I'm lookin at you Grandma Jill taking months to fix it and last patch bugged her face again AND cosmetics so bright that people refuse to use because killer can see you from far away, this applies to killer cosmetics too), you can't equip more than 3 pieces of cosmetics because BHVR won't update this system since they still earn $$ from playerbase.

Each update BHVR keep bringing old bugs back, game breaking bugs like unreachable totem in some maps(there's even reachable totem's out there but when you start cleasing it you'll get kicked from the animation because you are stuck in a invisible wall or box), devs don't know their own game.

DBD had/has a lot of potential but BHVR are digging their own grave within these 5 years of same meta perks, old/new bugs, bad at balancing perks/killers and maps(indoors maps are a real pain for a lot of the killers), devs DON'T KNOW HOW THEIR OWN MMR SYSTEM WORKS and yes there is an MMR system.

If you want some proof of all of this I wrote, check their last Q&A and look how blind and delusional they are with their own community, game and system, this is the last Q&A they did as I wrote this review: https://www.youtube.com/watchv=Pz7f_WPutq8

I'll edit this review if I remember more stuff like hacks growing exponentially since 2020, people usually don't see it since some of them only make survivors run 5-10% faster, they hack in a way casual players won't see and know they are using it or reports doing nothing against toxicity since there is like mini ban waves from BHVR staff each year.

Here is the most impactful one if you are f2p, garbage RNG perk system they refuse to update, so now you have 1 million perks and if you don't put perks like We're gonna live
forever(survivor) or BBC & Chilli(Killer) to farm bloodpoints you will have a really bad time.

Do you want any perk from movie DLC character and not pay for it? Good luck in Shrine of Secrets rotating 4 perks(2 for survivor and 2 killer) each week, paying 2k for each perk with the only in-game currency(take ages to get 2k if you compare with bloodpoints)that you can buy skins without $ and getting lucky or just pay $$ for the DLC and torture yourself farming bloodpoints so you can spend them in that bloated RNG perk system.

This game puzzle's made me drop it and until this day I don't know how the story is, probably will watch in youtube someday.
If you can stand with these lame and repetitive puzzle's, then buy it, if not, STAY away, I tried to complete this game 2 times and each one of them I've got reminded why I uninstalled.

Fun game overall(just like Killing Floor besides difficult which was heavily nerfed so it's easier in KF2).

Biggest problem I have with this game is how difficult it is to create an match/server to play with friends privately, it's so bad.

Unfortunately it has sht monetization making almost every new gun with new mechanic behind paid DLC's, iconic duo these days.

Early Access Review
I will keep updating this one since it's early access, but I played 20xx and it's the closest megaman you can find in Steam, it's so damn good, I trust Batterystaple games and it only gets better from here.

Non critical thinking TL;DR: Beautiful aesthetic, fun game on lower brackets majority of the time(since this game has skill based matchmaking) or when people doesn't just stand still for half an hour waiting for others to peek.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

- Time for the more detailed review, starting with a monetization acronym that Hunt has: Bb's = Bloodbonds(premium currency that you can use to buy skins inside game if you don't want to spend more money for paid DLC's skins in Crytek/Steam store) since next paragraph is about a new change so Crytek can milk more $ from some rich people from their playerbase.

Unfortunately after update 1.13(28/06/23) Hunt will become a paid game with F2P monetization(before that you could at least farm bb's if you played a lot). Here is the official video about the monetization changes, they could have done through their weekly Twitch dev streams but they said on live that the talk about monetization were going to be too big, so they decided to put onto YT, yea... 3 minutes... Crytek knew they were going to get dumpstered if they showed live, you can't earn bloodbonds how well you do each game anymore(this was called bloodbond accolades, you would get like 1~15 bb's depending how good were the match), now you have DLC's outside AND inside the game because of this change, BUT if you want one skin that costs 1000 bb's ingame you need to do every weekly challenge grind(50 bb's each week) for 20 weeks straight(almost half an year) to get for "free" if you don't count the time of your life as something useful somehow.

- Events: Crytek REAL events takes too long to release(1 year or even more to release new stuff), usually they call "Questlines" an event and it is just they saying you need to use "insert item here" and when you finish it you get a gun/hunter skin after grinding "quests", this isn't a real event, usually when there is something new into the game like map/monsters or not reskinned guns then I would call it an real event and when we have real events there is always some sort of "totem" that you need to find, running like a clown on the map to find it and get for event points.

- How do I even start about Hunt's "balance"? It's a mess, at this point in time/how much I played Hunt I started to believe Crytek have put on someone at their balance team as a leader which wanted to do a social experimentation with people's suffering for funny giggles or there is no balance team at all(actually might be a mix) since I know when things become like this(years without a proper balance), it is usually a leadership position of some kind saying what he wants or not in the game but I won't be saying names here because of witch-hunt.

Crytek believe there is some sort of a balance with one of their free ingame currency called Hunt dollars that let you buy guns/everything game has to offer besides skins but "unfortunately" there is people sitting in infinite Hunt dollars SINCE EARLY ACCESS/BEFORE RELEASE DAY because there is no system to counter how much dollars you make or a reset system(like Tarkov) at all, the only thing we have is Prestige that reset your hunt dollars and it is a CHOICE, you only go for prestige if you want skins in the first 10 prestige's(after prestige 10 you won't get 1 skin per prestige level anymore, mobile game intensifies) and even if you prestige you still earn too much Hunt $, this problem just become worse if you don't prestige and voila! We have Hunt millionaires, money "balance" is no more.

With that in mind, Crytek usually put better weapons on higher price, started to realize the problem? If you are new to the game or aren't top 5~10% you will get dumpstered EVEN if you are at the same skill or even better level as the person you are 1v1'ing because he had the better gun(Long ammo, Avtomat which is a fully automatic rifle in a cowboy game and Nitro are some of the meta stuff in this game), ps: Long ammo is legit one type of ammo that has been dominant since it's release and always will be until they change their balance team/leader, after that they can start nerfing properly some ammo type's or guns.

- About the MMR change after update 1.12: Basically after 1.12 Crytek tried to appeal the 1% playerbase of high 5/6 stars MMR from the game and obviously gone wrong, here is the video where David Fifield(Hunt General Manager) says they are going to "run an experiment" where Hunt prioritize full matches over FAIR matches because it took to long to find a match for people in high MMR. After 1 week probably even casual players got the end of the stick from Crytek because Hunt MMR were putting 3~4 stars people against full premade 5~6 stars players and the difference is huge, casuals sit at 3~4* or sometimes even at low 5*, people are still having unfair matches until this day 26/06/23 and Crytek still didn't say nothing about reverting the changes in the next big update that is 1.13 which will drop in 2 days from now(26/06/23).

- One of the reasons(I call it a triforce here because there is 3 of them) I don't even recommend Hunt right now even with all of these problems I listed above is: Hunt sht reconnect "feature" that is there only for visuals since you can't reconnect at all unless your squad;

1 - Extract
2 - Dies
3 - Disconnect too

Crytek need to fix reconnect alongside with their servers asap, it's even worse in Event's because there is like 2 or sometimes even 3x more players and if servers can't handle normal playerbase, imagine in event days.

- Second reason: Reshade, for some unknown reason this injector is allowed in this game while they banned Nvidia Freestyle because it gave people a "competitive advantage" and in the same timeline Crytek allowed Reshade for years since early access and it is still WHITELISTED by them until this day(27/06/23), here is a quick example on what you can do if you mess a little with Reshade. EDIT: 14/08/23 Crytek finally blacklisted the use of Reshade on Hunt, unfortunately people who used ReShade literally for cheating like removing fog/flash bombs didn't get banned, for now people will try to use other app's to do what ReShade did in the past, at least it is one less thing to care about.

- Final reason is: Cheaters, if you think Hunt doesn't have them you couldn't be more wrong, Crytek is too generous on their side within "reports", Crytek says they will ban or whatever but you won't know unless you stalk the cheater's profile on Steam and even at that you might see that the person is still playing after months/years, Crytek only gives time limited bans, it's not permanent bans and they don't pay for a good anticheat, we have EAC(free anticheat)[easy.ac] and people who bought or buy cheats for Hunt are not scared, if you don't believe me just go search for it, their users always, ALWAYS say it's only bans for 1 week or 1 month max.

Time to put more $ in your code team to fix your game instead of putting more $ in your DLC team since you guys from Crytek already did that with those higher price DLC's.

USE YOUR $ FROM SALES/DLC'S TO GET BETTER SERVERS WHILE YOU ARE AT IT SINCE EVERY 1~2 MONTHS THEY GET WORSE, CRYTEK.

Usually when I play Hunt I try to ignore everything that I wrote above just because gunplay in this game hits different and art direction is beautiful, but even with that, Hunt start getting really repetitive after like 50~100h so if you can ignore all of it's core problems too then you can enjoy the game longer.

Early Access Review
Gameplay reminds me a lot of Borderlands, if you don't mind weak storyline and want something to grind and kill time, I think this game will suit you.

This game is so bad optimized it makes me puke, I tried without the DLC(it's even worse optimized than the base version) and made my computer almost melt with 90~95% cpu usage and I couldn't get an refund because I tried for like almost 10 hours insisting in this because I really wanted to play with my friend, this is a rare occasion which I regret buying something from Steam.

Last patch (march 16/Flores operator) they are making even more harder to farm Renown(r6 currency) by removing weekly missions and there is not Season pass anymore, only Battle pass with even more grind without 30% xp boost from season pass, I don't mind grind for stuff like that(skins), but the thing is, you already paid for the game but bug$oft saw that r6 is their moneymaker and are milking people who don't pay real money for operators, if they keep doing stuff like this it'll only get worse until r6 community is done with their greed just like me, even if u guys still wanna give this game a go, good luck, it's a fun game overall besides toxicity in pubs and bug$oft greed, stay safe.
