Simple and fun. The graphics are appropriate for a game of this size, oddly, you still have jumping. Why? who knows. This game has absolutely nothing to jump to. Perhaps there's a hidden basement that you have to jump across the platforms to get to a circuit breaker to turn on the doomsday device?

Simple and fun. Relaxing and zen. Check the achievements before the level you start, and usually just one run through the level will grant that achievement (like clean this first, or clean the wheels last, or knock over all the coconuts).

Forewarning, the gnome on the last level MUST be placed upright to grant the achievement. Did that entire level 3 or 4 times because this isn't made clear anywhere.

Aside from the problems at launch, the crashing, now sony has delisted the game in almost 200 regions, including the removal from steam in an attempt to curb their reputation and losses otherwise.

Yes, it has democracy, yes it could've remained great, but sony is doubling down like the atomaton asses they are. For democracy, for freedom. Give sony a taste of liber-tea!

edit: game is still having severe performance and crashing issues on two separate types of hardware for me. i am just going to leave this uninstalled rather than trying to force it to work.

A little more simple spell wise than other RPGs like baldurs gate, but that ends up making the game very solid at its core. A large interesting world to explore, small secrets to uncover (hidden levers and the like), good combat and great story. I played this game to completion, and now am hunting the last few achievements.

9/10 Missing a little of the secret sauce of a 10/10, but I keep coming back for more!

Solid and simple gameplay that grows with your skill and talents you choose. Nice format and short. Great for little short bursts :)

uplay will lose your saves... i've lost two game saves, one was near completion.
then you still have to deal with uplay issues.
and all of that is IF you can even get the game to run. they've not kept up with the game and newer hardware it appears.

on the whole, id recommend against buying the game if you want to complete it.

the gameplay i did manage to get in, was quite fun. i liked upgrading the ship and fighting on the seas. its much less on the hand to hand than other ac games, but still enjoyable with the firearms. if everything from ubi works properly, this game is a solid 8 or even 9. the big problem, you can't trust ubi to do it right.

Game experiences a LOT of crashing issues, its not worth the buy if you can't even get to the very first in game objective.

I've played this since release. For new players there is a LOT to take in, don't be overwhelmed by how far behind this puts you. Take every new item and ability in stride, enjoy each and every mechanic and item that this game will introduce you to, and then play the things you most enjoy.

Advice, make friends, they will be happy to take you along for the ride to make credits, level mods, etc.

I skip playing the game for periods of time, and even veterans like me end up doing the same.

Pros:
Shooty stuff, seriously lots of firearms, the ability to upgrade them and paint them
Dress up, plenty of character customization and gear, from hats to backpacks and colors for everything. You don't need the crates to make this worth it, but they do add some extra options.
Objectives, think farcry 3 but with better weaponry, longer distance kill shots, and bases to pit yourself against
Single player, your companions have a sync shot ability that makes them worthwhile at range, seriously take advantage of this.
Concept/story, its well tied together, motivations all make sense.
Environment... if you have the graphics to pump this game up, wow... it looks amazing at full settings. I really enjoy the look of the game overall.

Cons:
Multiplayer feels a bit less because people miss more than the sync shot. So expect to go in hot for coop.
Loot crates, you do get a lot right off the bat, but some of the really neat options you have to farm weeklies for or just give ubisoft money... neither of which are very attractive options.
Some missions are a bit of a drag.
Some of the weeklies, require you to be in a kind of clan to even complete. Its a pain to get into one, they don't make finding them easy, and its all for just another crate and chance at something interesting.

Overall, a game I keep coming back to and ... sometimes doing part of the weeklies. I like running around with friends in this just to blow things up in an absurd and fun fashion.
