Why would you EVER decide to start charging for a free product? You need money? There's already three donation tiers on the steam storefront and you could add a donation page, EVEN a monthly popup in the app itself. Charging what you were already providing at no cost and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on the goodwill of the people that made you is and always has been an awful idea. Take a look at everywhere else, things are already expensive, don't punish accessibility because you need to fill a bottom line.
