Quite literally the best of its kind. Been a fan since KF1 as many were and they doubled down with the delivery.

-Graphically this game still holds up and does gore better than any other game STILL even 8 years later.

-Gunplay has always felt fantastic. Plays great and responsive on both M+K and controller. Huge variety in weapons + all of the DLC weapons for a fresh take on both modern and old weapons alike. Granted some of the weapons feel better than others depending on the situation, but I always end up with what feels the best and can get the job done. The visual feedback you get just from slaying down ZEDs alone is something that pulls you back into it even years later.

-Music and sound design is really well done. Not much else to say there but it does fit well here in KF2.

-Replayability is obvious with this one but it's even better alongside with a crew of friends or even some randoms you come across. The more people you have running with you, the harder it gets so choose your perks carefully!

-Speaking of perks, there's something for just about everyone here. The only perk i've never cared for was the survivalist personally but it is still useful to have for those who like having a backup plan or wanting a mix of just about everything.

-The community has gone above and beyond to give other players a tremendous amount of added content via through Steam Workshop and some of the workshop content eventually got baked into the vanilla game for events and other extras.

-Works very well on the Steam Deck too for on-the-go ZED mayhem.

-The tonality or overall theme is a little different compared to the hard grit and horror KF1 brought to the table. For a lot of people, this stood out only just recently as a hot topic and I don't really mind the progression from the stages of modern times and creeping in the future tech world. KF1 had it's horror charm era and KF2 has it's tech progression era where things are still advancing as time goes on. So to me, it makes sense. I enjoy both KF1 and KF2 settings respectively as their own. It would make sense if they were to follow up KF3 into a more futuristic setting considering it'll be set in 2091. Who knows... They could still pull off a ton of horror elements similar to KF1 and still be futuristic.

KF2 has always felt way ahead of it's time in a lot of areas and definitely worth mentioning since most other AAA companies have anywhere from triple-quadruple the amount of devs + all the funding they could ask for and BARELY scratch the surface of what makes a good game a fun one. Even if you were to take away the graphics, the gameplay itself could still hold it's own. They pushed the limits of what UE3 could do at the time and it still stands out way further than anything we have today dealing with zombie killers or wave shooters. I'm certainly looking forward to what they do with KF3.

If you haven't played yet, you've been f**king up.
