After a Million Fixes, Thousand of Gigabytes of Updates - the game is stable.
You can play it. It won't crash while you play it. It just crashes everytime you quit. That is okay.
Doesn't effect your savegame.
Missions work, NPCs spawn in when they are supposed to, radio works, calling your cars work, side missions work, weapons kinda work (don't believe the non-lethal lie, every weapon in this game is lethal so be careful if you want to play the non-lethal way), driving is a huge pile of ♥♥♥♥ - the biggest mess I've seen since Big Rigs (don't get stuck on a trash-bag! You'll never get off it!), Characters are hardly worth your time, they have nothing that makes them memorable, they just "exist" to "aid the story" and nothing more, no depth or flavour to them (well, except your Cyber Stalker Friend).

Do I enjoy this game? Honestly, even with the hours already into it, I can't say I really do.
It's just "there" and thus "can be played" - like picking up an old GTA Game just for the purpose of driving around the world - same feeling.

Can I recommend this game? I've given that some thought and can only say: No.
Nothing in this game is new, nothing ground breaking, everything already done (and most of the time better), promised features still missing, other not properly implemented and so on.

Just, walk away from this one and find something better.

(The only plus I have for this game, are the in game Ads for everything, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ 18+ stuff for the most mundane things)



Edit: After Finishing the game, not much of my opinion has changed.
I still would not recommend this game to really anyone.

Maybe, if you never played anything like it, if you never played skyrim, fallout, deus ex, doom, wolfenstein, fable, dragon age, mass effect or anything in this category and are interested in this kind of thing, then and only then, I would say "yeah, sure, if it's on Sale for 10 bucks".

There are still so many bugs in the game, unadressed even by modders, so many contradictory statements in the game and from the characters, reacting to choices you never made in that way and my personal biggest complaint, as I've completed ALL the sidequests before really going into the main quest, you constantly get "Do something else while you wait for this character to contact you"...What am I supposed to do, when I have done everything already?
So much more to say, but after wasting so much time on this game already, just to see it done, I am not going to waste more time on a long ass review.

By the end of the day, I will say it again, not worth buying, not worth playing.
So much better games around, so much more fun to be had.

Gameplay: Heavily Modded Fallout 4 meets a wee tiny bit of Doom Mechanics.
What this means is this is a mediocre shooter at best - there is nothing new, nothing fancy, nothing extraordinary.
The Guns are well thought and sound their par, but suffer from not enough customizable options and paying the money from 4-8 bounty hunter mission to unlock a skin for a weapon is.....
Characters and Story - To be honest, I tried really hard to see one and find one, tried to find characters that stick to your mind but....there is and are none.
The Protagonist lines are so thin, every 80's Action Hero is laughing about the dialogue - the rest is not much better.

The World itself, is perfect. Everything feels like the grim dark future. Everything feels like "this is W40K".

So, in the End - you will be buying this for the aestethics, and nothing more and to be honest - that is okay.

This should come pre-installed with windows.
And android too.

Have you ever played a game, where you one-shot the enemies, but they also one-shot you?

Have you ever played a game, that feels so fair, that everytime you mess up you know it is not because of the game, not because of any unfair or buggy game design, but because you messed up?`

Have you ever played a game, that gives you that "one more try" "one more push" "I can do it this time" feeling?

Have you ever played a game, that frustrates you just enough, that you do not want to stop but keep on going to feel that sweet moment when you beat that one part?



If you liked those aspects of those games, add a nice atmosphere and beautiful scenery to it, sprinkle a bit of blade-runner-esque scenery on top and you get:

"Ghostrunner"



My personal biggest plus for this game: Deflecting Bullets with your sword - it feels so good.

Its a Puzzle-Match-4 Roguelike Dungencrawler.
What else is there to say?
It's fun, it's hard, it's funny, it gets even harder.

If you are here, you basically know what to expect.

My own sanity goes down with every minute I play it.

♥♥♥♥, I bought it here after I got it for the Switch as a gift.

So yeah - buy it.

I just bought it, so the Devs can hire someone, who actually speaks the language they are trying to translate into.

And has some decent enough grammar skills to stay consistent in honorifics.

So.

Why did I buy this?

For the Soundtrack?
Yes.
To throw a few extra bucks into the Devs pocket?
Yes.
For the Artbook?
Partly.
For the ingame Weapon?
I was curios.

Was it worth it?
Yes. Every last blackstone.

When the trailer came out, I watched it a few times.

Then I used a tool, to get the sound file from said video, put it on my phone, so I could listen to it on repeat.

And I did, again and again - from home to work - at work before the busy hours started.

So, I bought this not on sale but for full price - something I only ever done for two other games.

Am I disappointed?
No.

Is it everything I expected it to be?
Yes.

Would I recommend it?
Yes - but only to those, who can actually appreciate the Gamestyle and the In-Game Universe.

I grew up with Wolfestein 3D and Doom.
I played Doom 2 and the "Doom 3 - Chicken Doom" mod.

I played Doom 3.

And now this.

If your testosterone levels are not high enough,
if you need some adrenaline quick - Hop into a nice game of Doom.

If you need to feel like you are actually in control, want a challenge with enemys that are actually trying to kill you,
hop into a nice game of Doom.



The only thing ticking me off is that there no option to buy the Soundtrack on Steam.
I had to buy it from Amazon.
