A glitch filled sequel that should have stayed in the oven longer but still enjoyable. Wait for sale/DLC or major QOL updates.


Aragami 2 is a-lot different compared to Aragami 1. The Graphics style has changed from a beautiful unique Cell-shading to a (In my opinion, still nice) standard indie style. Hiding in the shadows still looks very cool. They removed the "shadow blot" from the first game which allowed you to teleport freely anywhere to make your own path, they also removed the "Yurei/Pacifict" and "Kami/Lethal" reward skins for whatever reason and replaced them with a standard "You did this!" at the end results screen. Your shadow abilities no longer need to regenerate in the shadows because that system has been removed by a standard stamina bar that works in Light and darkness. Powers are also on a cool down and can be used an infinite amount of time.


The difficulty has decreased with the amount of movement you have now, enemies are somewhat blind unless you stand in-front of them or just generally be careless. Which you will later on in the game when you unlock more of the stronger abilities. The A.I is very easily exploitable as-well, you can be seen killing someone and if you are fast enough hide yourself and the body and the A.I will forget about you without any penalty to your overall results.

The new combat system is similar but overall a dollar store copy of Dark Souls. In short It's not good. Parrying enemies attacks feels really good and rewarding and enemies can also parry players who spam attack buttons. You can also parry projectiles.
Heavy attacks are very useless as they made the animation very flashy but very slow, It's mostly designed to take on enemies who group up on you but with how long the animation takes they'll either hit you before the animation finishes or kill you. But other than that you basically just wail on these dudes until their own stamina/guard breaks and you can either kill or knock them out.

Customisation is greatly appreciated compared to Aragami 1. However alot of the customisation is found closer to the end of the game which is a real shame since you'll be stuck with the same outfits and dyes for a very long time. Also the outfits and dyes are very expensive so look around for all the gold in each mission.

There's no penalty for killing everyone except one optional side mission that tasks you to NOT kill everyone you see and remain unseen



The amount of glitches I experienced when playing online with a friend was staggering. Here I will list a few:

  • Picking up bodies to hide and jumping on either a ledge or a fence will lock you in a vaulting animation and you'd fly through the air slowly until you drop the body.
  • Enemies phasing through objects to reach the disturbance they heard. This ended a couple runs in levels.
  • One mission congratulated us on not being seen nor killing anyone despite the fact we got caught and killed and disposed of ALL the bodies in the area
  • Missions constantly not rewarding us for killing everyone because it claims we "Left 7 people alive" or "There was 3 enemies remaining." we resorted to no longer killing anyone just to gain the small EXP reward at the end of the levels (if there is one)
  • Enemies would display dominance and T-pose which allowed them NOT to be assassinated or killed without a explosive kunai
  • A friend could not see enemies blue trails (which means they're connected to another enemy and will be alerted if the person they are connected too are killed)
  • Cosmetics not saving after disconnect. Not a huge deal but still a problem.
  • Sometimes enemies would teleport into our hands and we'd have to put them down to progress
  • Knocking out someone takes far longer to initiate than to kill someone. sometimes i had to repeatedly tap it to knock someone out.
  • Map geometry and props sometimes are fused into one another. some props are also floating off the wall and ground but a noticeable amount.
  • Certain double kill ability would not activate when two enemies are standing in close proximity to another and other times it would go off when enemies were very far apart.
  • Standing still and spamming the heavy attack button killed me by "Fall damage." happened once but still mad

    The story was very forgettable and the amount of times a friend and I would question what is happening was too often. I remember like 1 NPC name and that's it.

    Spoilers for final Mission. You have been warned.
    The final boss is required to be assassinated three times before the game is over. However the boss will hide in one of four locations and after you kill assassinated him the first time the marker will follow him briefly, The fastest time i can finish the final mission is 2:25 lmao. Truly a fitting ending to this game.
