I got this game about 6 months after launch and many of the issues people reported at the time seem to be fixed.
The game is a souls through and through, with some fun and interesting twists thrown in to make it stand out.

The combat feels fluid although a bit slow at times. The way the game works made me try a combat style that I've never really enjoyed in the original souls franchise, the 2 handed long sword, and it's been a blast.

Because of how guarding, defending and dodging works in this game I've never felt like I'm missing out on using a shield. You can always parry, loosing life from guarding can be healed by attacking and the dodge overall feels really good.

Also: this game's multiplayer works like a normal game should. You join a player and they stay with you until one decides to leave; only a distance from host restriction is applied but other than that the multiplayer works fine. No weird floor sign to look for or anything.

It's a mix of several games like apex, battlefield, and team fortress 2, and ends up making something new and fun.

As of May 6 2024, Playstation has reverted the decision and say that THEY WILL NOT make mandatory for players to need a sony account to play the game, making the game available for all again.

Good job helldivers, we made our point loud and clear

At the begining of may 2024 Playstation made MANDATORY that Helldivers 2 players make an account to access the game, which leaves buyers from 177 countries locked out of the game (where palystation doesn't allow you to make an account)

A ♥♥♥♥♥♥ move from playstation to inflate their user numbers and force a system on a game that doesn't need it.

My previous review bellow still stands for the game itself, but I can not recommended it, several of my friends are getting locked out of this game just because some ♥♥♥♥♥♥ executive decision that does nothing for the game itself.

The best co op shooter game I've played in a looong time. Everything about it seems to work as it should... except the servers because they didn't expect such a success.

It's a great point and click, highly recommended if you like sci-fi, AIs, and really weird technology. Also a super dark and sad premise.

Get your friends and have some scares while someone snares, if you care.

Legit the game is super fun with friends I recommend it to everyone.

A very direct homage to Max Payne 1 and 2 (not 3). With EXCELENT music, voice acting and storytelling. Gameplay wise don't expect anything super deep, but if you are into neo-noir and a great narrator / inner monologue, this game is for you.

It's also kinda longer than I expected, I thought it would be done in 4 hours but I think it's gonna be closer to 6.

edit: just beat it, great game. A bit too long, it ended up going for almmost 8 hours.
Kinda wish it was about 10 levels shorter, there's a few in there that didn't feel all that great. But it still left a great impression on me.

Ever wanted to play a simple and quick version of combat from Baldurs gate 3 / Divinity Original sin? Well this is it, as a roguelite.

It's a lot of fun and the devs are great, highly recommend it AND you can play it co op!
