if you have at least 4 properties here you enjoy and want to play with in a simplistic fighting game : buy it on sale.
ULTIMATE EDITION does NOT include the second character pass, i have it and todoroki isnt included.
you can switch button layout to look like ps4, thank god.

overall : theres characters that have such short ramp up animations the specials they catch you so fast and do ridiculous amounts of damage it feels unbalanced.

this game is so charming, funny, fun, dark & so much more!
at the point of reviewing im in the graveyard level and it is so much fun!
every level has new mechanics and minigames,
but the possible strongest point of this game is the MUSIC
oh my god the music! it is so good!
give the soundtrack a listen online, it is absolutely gorgeous!

locked me out of my account for no reason.
refuses to let me unlock it.

HOW TO PROGRAM ANY CONTROLLER INSTRUCTIONS BELOW!
right click the game in your library and press ''configure controller'' and do the following inputs :

bind the D-pad directional buttons to your arrow keys, (this was before WASD was the norm)
bind square to X (X on keyboard)
bind cross to Z (Z on keyboard)
bind circle to C (on keyboard)
bind R1 to S (keyboard)
and thats it for using the controller!

a classic from my childhood that i can now have forever in my steam library!
im happy to say after some tinkering i got a controller to work 100% and all is playable,

-framerate a perfect 60.
-cutscenes surprisingly still look good.
- controls on pc are just the way they were.

the survival game mode has a gamebreaking glitch where some bosses are not scaled to the level portrayed.
combined with another glitch that lets you keep your gear even if you go game over.
i was level 22 and the boss was level 12, i got 1 shot.
it was the spiderboss that shoots spikes and slices at you with 1 claw. ALWAYS 1 shots you.
could use a fix there

dark souls but with guns is a very shallow way of describing this game.
while accurate, its also so much more than that, its a randomly generated world with multiple different world bosses that give replay value to get all the weapons and mods you want to get.

theres 3 classes you can choose from, wich is just the way you start because after a while you can go any way you like.
vampiric summoner that heals from damage done by minions? yup
hemorrhage melee striker? yup
long range assassin with 100% crit chance on unaware enemies? yup
pyromaniac gunman? yup
theres a lot of possibilities and i love it!

besides storymode theres survival mode wich is my personal favorite, though there are balance issues with some bosses that are overscaled and too powerful. while i discovered a glitch that allows you to keep loot after you lost and survival gets reset wich SHOULD include your gear.
i kept my gear and level. and with a level 21 character the blue spiderboss that shoots spikes out and slices with 1 claw STILL 1 shots me, even though i was fully decked out.
also : some bosses that you get early on are a death sentence or even regular bosses get so many additional mobs you dont get time to breathe, heal, or even poke the boss a bit.

i got early acces to it, and now on release day i have to say its a big recommendation from me to anyone thats looking for a co-op game to play with friends.

you're a group of dwarves with a variety of missions to complete.
you have 4 classes that each play differently, you can mod your weapons and armor along with some perks that impact your gameplay even further! theres cosmetics too that you unlock as you play, or skins for weapons you find in missions as hidden treasures.

im not even that far in the game yet and im having a blast with it!
8/10!

playing this franchise for 16 years now, and this is the most new player friendly game they made.
if you're intimidated by how it may seem difficult, the game eases you into it by slowly ramping up the difficulty so you can learn the ins and outs of the weapons & movement.

after having the final monster, the god of them all : fatalis, the black dragon.
join the game as a nice finish for the final monster ''as a free update'' specifically stated so, i can say this is my favorite still after 484 hours, i still have friends that get to experience the game for the first time and they all fall in love with it investing many hours and joining me in hunts to reach the peak of the ranks.

my favorite game in existance as of 2020 still.

if you have money to spend on the download content after you tried the game as a free to play.
you'll have a bunch of stuff to do.
if you dont have money are going to be dependant on free to play : you will run out of things to do quite fast.

pvp : awful, unbalanced thanks to people grinding gear that maximizes every stat. and even then. theres flavor of the month setups that sometimes change, but certain weapons will always be dominant.
-
pve : this is the good stuff! lots to do, many options and even challenging dungeons that put you at a disadvantage to really challenge your mastery of the game.
theres raids to do with friends, or randoms from the destiny 2 LFG discord server.
-
community is friendly, with a few rotten elitists here and there. but thats a given everywhere.
overall : i've enjoyed my hours, just kinda wish for more enemy variety and A WAY TO CONTROL WHAT COLOR GOES WHERE ON THE SHADERS! COME THE FLIP ON BUNGIE! PLS!
