I didn't play much of the first game nor did I really enjoy it, not that it was bad but the roughness of the game really showed and I couldn't get into it fully to enjoy it but Warhorse improved EVERYTHING with the expanded budget they got compared to the first game.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is everything the first game wanted to be. The story always kept my interest, and always kept me wanting to come back for more. The graphics and performance are greatly improved as Warhorse again was given more time and budget to work with on the CRYENGINE. (A optimized game in 2025 is almost impossible now. Thanks Unreal Engine 5.) The combat has been simplified compared to the first game but that isn't a bad thing, as removing the 2 extra blocking areas makes combat seem less infuriating to deal with. Combat is fun and extremely rewarding when you get used to it.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 surprised me at how it builds on the first game and improves on it. Warhorse did a fantastic job at showing the triple A companies that sometimes simplicity, linear gameplay, micro-transactions, and live service aren't traits of a successful game. (And yes EA single-player games aren't dead you just like putting blinds in front of your eyes)
