If all you care about is having a crafting game with a Lord of the Rings theme is is probably fine for you.

Otherwise don't bother. The crafting and combat is extremely simple and generic. If you've played any other crafting survival games you've probably played something better than this.

If you have never played DF or want to give Bay12 money, pick this up.

If you've been playing the regular version of DF there is very little here for you. Features have been removed and the menus are often just as if not more obtuse than the original game.

Like many Paradox games, this is the base framework of something cool but is broken in so many ways. There is potential here; the economic and pop systems are surprisingly advanced. The changes to war are actually pretty neat. But everything in the game is broken or half-baked in some way. This will be a great game after 5 years & $250 of DLC, and you'll still need mods.

I'm still going to play it for hundreds of hours, and you should too, but I'm not recommending the game until it's actually good.

A fun little retro style horror game that takes only a couple of hours to get through. It's got some interesting game modes unlocked after the first completion but they're relatively shallow and only worth it if you're interested in speedrun/achievement challenges.

A great little hour and a half game of nice puzzles. I want more so badly I might actually just play The Witness.

Only negatives with this game is no in game sound settings and no look inversion.

This is one of the best stories I've read in a long time. Game of the Year, if not one of the games of the decade.

This game has some improvements over CK2 in some areas, but overall is a vastly more simple game with much less content than the previous. I think eventually CK3 will be a good game and a better modding platform than CK2, but only after $150 of DLC over the next 3 years.

If you have CK2 and most of the DLC, stick to that, if you don't have CK2 and wanna get into this kind of game CK3 is great for you.

They changed how the Blade of the Darkmoon and Darkwraith invasions work so now Darkmoons can no longer invade downwards, and Darkwraiths can no longer invade upwards. Now the Darkmoon and Darkwraiths have the same ranges. Because you can't invade in either covenant if the target has had their boss killed, there is absoutely no reason to join the Darkmoons. These changes made Darkmoons, which were already frustratingly hard to find matches for in the original game, completely dead.

The entire point of unlimited downward invasions in Darkmoon was to invade experienced PvPers and twinks who would attack lower level players. The changes make Darkmoon absolutely pointless and and even more dead than in the original. The change to the Darkwraiths that doesn't allow you to invade upwards now no longer punishes lower level Darkwraiths by forcing them to fight high level players.

The entire appeal of this remaster was to have working mulitplayer and they've completely destroyed the multiplayer dynamics that made the covenants unique in the original. The main thing I was looking forward to when I bought this has been destroyed.

The issues in my original review were fixed but it's absurd they were even a problem in the first place. Here is the original text of my review for posterity:

{{"Fatal Error: The system does not meet the minimum memory requirements to run the application"

I have 20GB of RAM and am well over the minimum specs thanks. Seems like a good number of people having this problem and no fix has been found.

Edit: Finally got it working. Requires a bunch of crap that you should never have to do and the game runs perfectly fine now. The Negative review stays because as it is, this game is just a $20 patch that does nothing. If you wanna play some revived mutiplayer for a while, maybe you should spend the $20, but the reality is this game should have been free for owners of the Prepare to Die Edition. They barely updaded anything and introduced a bunch of bugs.}}
