CS:GO Review
Just a cheap copy of Valorant with literally no powers, boring maps, ♥♥♥♥♥♥ matchmaking and stupid overpriced skins.

Rage is a definition of a game that is okay. In its entirety it's not good but it's also not bad. The game just has so much potential that it never uses and it tacks on various systems or mechanics that do not always mesh well with the game. I want to talk about two main aspects of the game: The writing and the gameplay. I won't cover performance or graphics, but in my opinion the game looks good for its age and runs really well (although texture pop-in can be annoying, as it's an engine problem).

The Writing

The writing in this game is really weird. Right from the start you're plunged into this post-apocalyptic wasteland with little context and it feels great. And here lies the biggest problem - throughout the whole game you barely find out anything substantial about the world, or the factions or about yourself. You have some basic explanation, but the game sets up so many questions or concepts and it never explores any of it. Half of your game is just doing various fetch missions that don't advance the plot at all. When the plot advances somewhat, it does feel great and it's quite interesting, but these moments are rare. Moreover, the game ends too abruptly, in my opinion, because what feels like an act 2 is literally the end of the game. Barely any characters are memorable, many side quests are not very interesting, although the voice acting is decent. Personally, I expected more and was quite disappointed in the writing department.

The Gameplay

Rage, in my opinion, offers solid gameplay, although it tries to be too ambitious. I enjoyed the shooting, as it felt satisfying and the game offers you a good amout of weapons, with each weapon having 2 to 4 types of different ammo. Moreover, you can craft various gadgets like sentry bots or turrets that help you during the fight. Another great aspect about the combat is the way enemies move and react to your bullets. Enemies do various rolls, jump on walls and on furniture making the combat feel more dynamic. Moreover, every time you shoot an enemy, it reacts to your gunshot realistically - stumbling, falling on the ground or even exploding into tiny pieces. Combat sections usually felt exciting, although it sometimes does drag on and some weapons feel underpowered. The game offers three enemy types: melee, ranged and heavy, but there are different bandit clans, mutants and other enemies, so these three enemy types don't get old very quick.
Another big part of the game is driving. You have various vehicles that you can upgrade with various parts and you can put weapons on these vehicles. The "open" world is filled with various enemy vehicles which attack you, but this never feels amazing. Most of the time vehicle sections just feel bland and okay, nothing is too memorable. Of course there are racing sections too, but I also don't think it's anything too exciting. The driving mechanices overall felt okay, but nothing too amazing.
The world in the game is both linear and open. In the game world you can drive anywhere, but only rarely you will ever find something that is not used for a mission. 90% of the time, the only things you'll encounter in the world are bandit vehicles. Most missions are very linear and there are no dialogue options. Game cities feel both dead and alive, depends on your location, but in the end they don't offer much as their primary function is to serve as simple hubs. There are a good amout of minigames, but again, they weren't very enticing to me.

Overall, I'd say I had a good time with this game. It only took me about 10 hours to finish the game and it's certainly a very okay-ish game. If you can manage your expectations, you can have a good time with this game. Just don't expect Fallout or S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

Early Access Review
If you ignore some bugs and server issues, the game is really fun. I managed to get into a few matches and the gameplay is really good and the game is addicting. Also the gameplay is really unique with features like victory points and building.
