This game is a very toxic game, but what do you expect in an online VR game. It's 100% worth the price and good gameplay. Can bug out, but only when either your streaming the game directly in Discord, or just too much happening in the screen at once. But other than that, it's a very good VR game. But for the toxicity, if you have weak skin, try to either mute the other players or just don't buy the game. I'm trying to help you out, but people will have no mercy most of the time. But to leave the toxicity, just play co-op and kill some AI. Or even just mess around in the firing range solo to test your aim. This is better than Pavlov in a few ways. The controls are better and there is better AI. The lighting is better as well. If you want to play a casual VR tac game, I recommend this game.

1.8 update: The update was huge, but I can say I don't like the menu, the intro was nice before. But they have fixed the lag when loading up the game, and into levels. The new gun sounds are nice, the shooting range map, it's to dark inside of it. Now, the biggest issue of all, crossplay. When quest arrived, the toxicity went up like 400%. Left and right just death, I hate it, but it is easy to kill them. The graphics did go down, but it was for the stupid port. Finally for now, you can revert back to 1.7 so that is a plus.

After 1.8: Im used to the update now, i see that it did raise the player base. I can have fun because people saw that this game isnt just about killing. The graphics seem to got an increase in the past like 1-3 minor updates this game had. Its now fun, i will admit. So i will keep updating this every-so often, so if you see this, hello.

The game is pretty good now, kind of back to normal. But smokes still suck ass, but it will be like that for a bit longer im assuming. This is written on 10/29/20

Hello, another update on this amazing game. I'm now in a league and am eh at it. I 100% recommend this game as of 11/27/20

Hello, after this most recent update as of 01/17/21, this update has new sounds and brought back snowpeak and it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ great. That's all I got so far, cya.

Ah, so it's March 21st, 2021 and the game is doing well that's all I gotta say, I also made many new friends and gained many followers on Twitch because this is such an understreamed game. Good bye until the next big update.

May 16th, waiting for nighttime shooting range...

May 20th, just found out how to use air link, its way smoother than the cable.

June 19th, 1.8.8, kinda sucks. i mean night time shooting range is fun, but max of 5 players per team on firing range, really? there is also a punish or forgive option which is good i guess. just waiting for 1.8.9 or 1.8.10 for AK mag slap.

July 25th, 1.8.9, AK mag slap is here (im a bit late), it's good, still needs some tweaking though. Haven't played on the new map yet. Oh and they removed the team limit for shooting range which is great. See you when 1.8.10 comes out.

August 24th, 2021. I have gotten 500 hours on this game, and it feels nice. The game has changed so much, and I have found that people aren't as toxic as they used to be. Still, there is a lot, but not as much as last year. I still love this game, still fun as ever, and hoping that Onward 2 doesn't exist. But it most likely will at some point. School starts in a week so I won't play this much unless Delta sweeps over our school. In the mean time, I just sit in shooting range and relax. The team thing never worked out for me, not getting back into it any time soon. I just hope that the rest of this year is good for everyone. Goodbye until next update, cya then.

March 21st, 2022, It's been a little since my last update on the game. The new guns added in with 1.8.10 are okay, nothing special. But this will be my last update until they add something amazing, and a good example would be the stupid cross platform friending system so I can finally play with people without having to search through lobbies. Life's been good lately, moved houses, ya know. Well anyway, that's all for now, cya.

July 21st, 2022: So 1.8.11 released and it's not good. They changed the point system which I thought would be a good thing, but how they did it is just increase the amount of points but make everything cost more so it's basically the same. Another thing they did was try to help negate jiggling which messed up your offhand when it's on the gun. It feels as if your hand is being dragged into your body or just to the left. The voice chat system was changed too, but I think that's a good thing, it sounds so much better. I've been playing more 1.7 recently and it's been fun. Well anyway, good bye for now, see you next update.

November 5th, 2022: 1.9 is a very, VERY boring update. They got rid of 1.7 about a week before the update launched and what did we get in return? A new ammo box model, how cool. Onward has gotten boring for me after a long while, I've had no interest in playing it recently likely because better games came out and I have other VR games which do things better. Anyway, good bye until either an update ruins or makes the game better.

November 18th, 2022: So I am finally changing my review to a negative one, the game is getting worse with every update, maybe I will end up changing the review if they do something, but as of now after 1500+ hours, I'm not actively playing this game anymore. They are aware of bugs and don't attempt to fix them before they push an update out. Good bye until a new update comes out.

December 9th, 2022: I am changing it back to a positive review because I have gotten used to 1.9. The November sitrep looked pretty good. Hopefully they push a patch out soon for bugs, I am not expecting a major update until May of 2023.

March 4th, 2023: First update to this review this year and I am a little late to do that but the game is eh still. Two new guns and a new map is a plus but the hand thingy whenever you shoot a gun and its recoil causes your hand to fly off your gun is still there and it is super annoying. But goodbye until maybe the summer or fall.

July 27th, 2023: I am just a tad late with the review but 1.11 is really good. And the sitrep for 1.12 looks promising, a new map in the works, and a new game mode? I'll take it. That is all for now. Goodbye.

September 10th, 2023: Update 1.12 came out about two weeks ago and it's pretty good. They fixed the annoying drone bug after 3 years and added a new mode. They also changed the gloves for both teams. That's it again, until next time. Goodbye.

February 20th, 2024: Update 1.14 just came out today and it is fun. Mercenary mode is interesting and has a good amount of replayability compared to other co-op modes. I only spent about an hour playing it solo but I can tell already it would be amazing with friends. Now I didn't update my review for 1.13 as that update ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sucked. The worst update to Onward yet, at least for PCVR. They downgraded all the maps so they only need to work on one version of the map per update. But I did notice in 1.14, the maps feel a bit better and look a bit better. The performance issues have been fixed and overall, 1.14 is a good update. See y'all in July/August!
