Gris is a slow paced puzzle platformer with fantastic visuals, simple intuitive controls and an outstanding soundtrack.

Gris' art style leans heavily into vast beautiful water colour imagery.
Colors and shapes play an important role in both the narrative and game play elements. Often water colour bleeds are very useful indicators for what mechanics may be required without explicitly telling the player what to do.
The music is extremely well paced and Gris even extends areas with ramps or walking segments to ensure the player can experience the crescendo and punctuating points at the right places.

The game play is a lot more relaxed than I am accustomed to but not lacking by any means.
Gris introduces a handful of new mechanics gradually and explains their usage with pure conveyance.
Outside of the initial button prompt, Gris lets the player discover how to wield their new found powers via trial and error rather than onscreen diagrams or audio explanations.
There are several "ah-ha" moments to be had even for experienced platform players.

Gris was a solid experience for its price point, I would highly recommend if you are interested in a chill game to unwind and vibe to.

Wonderboy 3 is one of the first games I played as a kid, way back on the Sega master system. I wanted very much to like this game.

Firstly the presentation is amazing. I love the artstyle, I love the music and I love the ability to switch between retro and modern on the fly. It truly looks and sounds amazing.

The gameplay is good, I understand its an older game so the mechanics are dated but it functions well EXCEPT and this is a MAJOR issue, any enemy moving toward your character, when hit can get knockbacked toward you rather than away from you. This means you could potentially get hit for half your health bar outside of you own control.

This would have been a small issue if there was a means to counter play it but outside of grinding the next tier of gear for a few hours, its just functionally flawed.

Here is a clip of the aformentioned buggy forward knockback, disclaimer: profanity

If this issue didnt show up as frequently as it did, I would've played the game further and pushed my way to the nostalgic end but I'm not about to force myself to play a game where each enemy has the potential to kill me regardless of how I play around them.

I don't know if this bug is regular behaviour in the classic but there are literally hundreds of games I would recommend over this one and I wouldn't recommend this experience to my worst enemy.

This game is an amazing classic BUT

DO NOT BUY THIS VERSION!

It has really bad controller support, The soul sound effect in the first area loops endlessly and because you have to respawn there when you reload a save, it is a perpetual sound that you can not remove.

I spent nearly two hours using third party programs to get my ps4 pad functioning only to have the experience ruined by this sound loop that has no fix.

Play this game on another medium like the Dreamcast or ps1
