For better or worse, it's risk of rain 1. With mods.
Many strats from the original have been wrecked. Infusion is affected by glass. Small enemies can climb ropes and ladders. All survivors can move while firing.
The new map variants, enemies and items can be disabled for a run, but with how the base mechanics have been changed the "classic" mode doesn't feel quite the same.

But there's also a lot of new stuff. Providence Trials adds interesting and unique minigames that unlock items, skins and alternate abilities for completion.
The environment graphics have been given an overhaul, so that they keep the spirit of the originals while being so much more detailed.
Many items, survivors, artifacts and interactables introduced in ror2 have been included, along with brand-new ones.

It's more monster prom, what more could you need?

There's different romance options, and gameplay has been switched up a little. There's less variation between the ROs; not all the niches from monster prom are filled in monster camp.
Some of the jokes fall a bit flat, but others definitely make up for it. The style is gorgeous and the animated credits really ties each game together.

Investigative story told through the screen of an internet moderator. Go from reporting (and banning) users for copyright and bullying, to manipulating the platform to uncover conspiracies and hackers.

Very much brings you back to the turn of the century, with pages, customization, graphics and desktop gadgets straight out of the '90s.
Lots to investigate, puzzles ramp up in difficulty nicely, and even after the story's over there's still many undiscovered pages to see.

Wonderful game, immersive and enticing.
Exploration is vital to both survival and the story, and the map is static rather than procedurally generated like many others would do, but just floating about checking everything out makes for a good time.
Story is uncovered through interacting with the environment, from scanning local organisms to learn more about their biology to finding lost PDAs with conversation transcripts and messages from the past.
Visuals are gorgeous although they can get pretty resource intensive.
Swaps between being relaxing and intense depending on the situation

Best played somewhat blind so as not to spoil some of the surprises the game throws at you.

2.15 hours of 100+ tracks from the UNDERTALE OST, in .mp3 format, but does not include various tracks present in .ogg form in the game files.

Unlooped BGMs, but most music players have a niftly lil repeat button down there next to shuffle.

Many users have problems finding the files;
They're in [SteamApps/common/Undertale/UNDERTALE Soundtrack], meaning it's already present in the Steam music library (Library>Music>Undertale OST)

Recommended specs are misleading.
Even with the 3d music card and Windows 9000000, you'll still find a leakage in the feelsboard unless you buy a new stoneHeart emotions processor.

It's more UNDERTALE. What more could you possibly want?

(Written off the back of my first play-through)

When reading a sufficiently decent book, with an engaging story, such as, maybe, The Lord of the Rings, it ceases to be a mere time-filler; it brings an immense bliss that all other time is spent longing to return to it.
Then it is completed, and life is a void once again.

Undertale embodies this ecstasy.
It weaves a story that isn't tedious in the slightest, and entices the player with fantastic music, amusing characters and simple yet occupying gameplay, although the introductory level isn't quite so rich as the rest.

Just make sure you're playing it on the weekend, with nothing important coming up.
You'll end up shutting off at 3am, at best.

I love it.
