Game itself is fun, People as always remain the slobbering masses of trash they will always be, and so play only in friend stacks.
Also, there are WAY too many unskippable animations in the game, I don't care who the game decided was the MVP, I don't care about a 15 second victory or defeat animation. If the round is over I just want to get out and either go new or exit. The amount of time forced to sit through unskippable nonsense is pretty high.

That said, hero balance is pretty good, most heroes feel good to play, I wouldn't say any outliers stand out as bad picks. Controls are pretty tight, the game feels good to play, it feels good to move around, it feels good to shoot.

I'm giving this a do not recommend because honestly, the community is of course the problem. The game needs a role queue, and things to force players to not throw from hero select. The number of times you queue into a team of 5 dps and pick a healer for some hope is too high. And yeah, it sucks that this game requires such draconian measures because you may have people who are cool enough to fill and do whatnot, but the other 90% of people are either slobbering morons or trolls, and they simply can't be trusted. I queued 10 games today, only 3 games had all 3 roles represented.

I will revist this review later, but for now, it's a pretty frustrating experience.

Well, it's worse. Honestly they're making concessions to the playerbase but the game they clearly want to make isn't a game anyone wants to play as you can see from the recent reviews. I already didn't recommend this game, and I further don't recommend it now. I recommend it even less if that's possible. I had speculated from GGGs actions over the last several years that this slow, boring, and clunky slog was what they wanted to make, but people didn't believe me because it was shiny and new. Believe people when they show you who they are.

Congratulations, like the creepy bald loser slipping a roofie into your drink, GGG has slipped his ruthless mode into poe2. This is an ARPG devoid of everything that makes an ARPG fun. In poe1 we hid 90% of loot because it was garbage and 10% was worth picking up, well 10% is still worth picking up, but now we get 90% less loot in the first place. The progression is awful, the gem system is far worse than poe1, Oh hey what's that RNG on RNG on RNG, It's like they don't realize that the slot machine is not what makes the game fun. There is no sense of joy when you actually find something usable now, it's relief. The skill tree is huge, ok who cares, this isn't a ♥♥♥♥ measuring contest chris, the skill tree needs to be impactful not huge. The support gem fiasco is trash, you're limited to 1 of each support gem but guess what, out of the 100 or so they have only 10 are worth using, whoops... God it's like they took all the worst parts of poe1 and magnified them. Oh btw you remember the incredibly trash league sanctum? yeah it's now a core part of the game, your ascension is now ass because they took "Hey what if we added labrynth, but worse" and made it the new lab.

I'm going to keep going through the campaign to see if It gets better but I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ doubt it. Save yourself the $30, ♥♥♥♥ save yourself the time, this game is not worth picking up.

The most basic pay to win korean grindfest. There is literally nothing unique about this game. There is no reason to play THIS game over any other garbage mmo of the last 10 years. It's the new FOTM and nobody will be playing it in 3 months. It's pretty, that's about it.

Pretty good game, do recommend, but be aware there is 0 crash protection, if your game crashes you lose your run, it doesn't save at the start of each room like you would expect from a modern room based roguelite. Otherwise it's a lot of fun, the progression is neat, the skills are fun, there's a LOT to unlock and the movesets for characters, bosses, and enemies are all pretty interesting.

Game was mid before same old souls, had some interesting looking stuff in the DLC, but of course it's lock behind a ton of the old uninteresting stuff. Want to play a new character using some of the cool new ♥♥♥♥? Better glitch through the game to do it at level one otherwise you're spending quite some time to get in and then hopefully find what you want. They definitely should have sprinkled some of the new weapon types in the base game areas, very poor decision.

If you want more of the base game and enjoy having a nail hammered through your genitals this is the dlc for you, it's aggrevatingly implemented perfectly inline with the gameplay you've stockholmed yourself into wanting from fromsoft.

For everyone else, pass it's just not worth it, and certainly not at $40.

Honestly, I don't recommend this game even aside from all the current nonsense with Sony. Katherine Baskin is one of the community managers and she actively hates the player base. I will never touch this game again so long as she works for arrowhead, and I recommend you don't either. This woman has nothing but contempt for the playerbase, nothing but contempt for you, she works there because it gives her a sense of power, not because she wants to make a good game or be part of something fun.

Do not buy products from people who hate you and everything you like.

Do not buy this game, they keep making garbage changes, it's extremely p2w nickel and dime ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, you can earn tokens and stuff, but they're not usable for the new characters, so they're basically useless. Then they redo the campaign with HARD dps checks so if your build hasn't come online at an arbitrary point, you just hard can't progress. don't buy this ♥♥♥♥.

The game is decidedly mid. It's not bad, but there's a lot of just questionable choices and weird dumb stuff. There's some good things too. The biggest annoyance for me is completely random start locations, instead of getting a settler and plopped in an area to find a good location, you start with your first city just built. You'll spend a fair amount of time restarting because if you have a crap location it really cripples you. Then as others have said the NPCs do be kind of wild with the amount of stuff they throw at you, Early armies of yours get absolutely dumpstered by enemy armies, and honestly the game has drastically different balance than almost any of the preview Promotion they did with youtubers and such. They showed off a really fun game where you could do a bunch of fun things, and then launched a pretty uninteresting game where you just get reamed for a few hours.

Honestly, between the trash tier DRM, the Horrible performance, I crashed as soon as I got to the capital and the game won't load in my save any more. The Microtransactions... just don't buy this game. too late for me to refund, but I can save you maybe.

Game is fun, it's ok. It desperately needs the ability to manually aim at least your primary weapon via your mouse. Feels pretty bad when you're trying to go in a direction and the game auto-aims in a direction you don't want to go but you have plenty of firepower to blast a hole through whatever direction you want to go in.
