Payday 3 had a very rough launch, and a slow update cycle due to a critical error in their update pipeline. Months later, now that the issue has been resolved, the devs have displayed a will to want to turn things around and have kept us filled in on new content news and bug fixes. The support for this game seems clear despite the rough launch, so it looks like this game will live up to Payday 2 in the coming year or so.

If you're a diehard Payday fan, I would recommend this game. If you are a more casual fan, just wait another couple months for more content drops and then I would recommend hopping on. If the devs continue their hard work, this game will be amazing, if not, I see a similar outcome to what happened to Fallout 76 after wastelanders dropped. (Bethesda did nothing else, let the game flounder, then milked it for cash)
