The number of times I miscount the shells is too damn high.

I play this game to further train my reaction time since there's so many idiots in the real life on the road nowadays.

Solo Play: Spooky asf, requires strategy

Multiplayer Play: "Hey man, distract the tank and I'll go behind him."

The year is 2001. My parents dropped me of at my grandmothers for the Saturday morning. My cousins living there were on the computer trying out a shareware disc
called "Galaxy of Games: GOLD Edition". The oldest cousin shows me all these sweet arcade games on it: OXIDE, Moon Buggy, Blast Thru, Alantis Rising, Nebula Fighter,
Speedy Eggbert, Booym, Star Miner, Galactic Patrol, Crazy Drake, Raptor [hehehe], and Demonstar.

I gave all of them a try before finally playing Demonstar. And boy... did I play Demonstar. Every time I was dropped off, I set time aside to go and play Demonstar, even if it was just the first few levels, I kept on playing it.

The music, the explosions, and the bosses. It was peak entertainment for little ol' me.

A few months pass, another Saturday comes around and I'm dead set on playing Demonstar.

Too bad, the disc was somehow lost. Never got to play it again...



2023. I'm looking online at the history of shareware discs and browsing the archives for nostalgic purposes. I come across a very familiar disc.

Its the GOG Gold Edition shareware disc.

Look at the contents of the disc.

I buy it immediatley and have the biggest flashback of my childhood. Play through the entire game from start to finish.

And now I find out from a youtube stream the man himself has taken upon himself to remaster both Raptor: Call Of The Shadows AND Demonstar.

A dream come true for little ol' me...

Life story aside, you have no idea just how much joy this brings me. The music, the explosions, the enhanced pixels... thank you Scott and everyone involved in remaking this masterpiece. My childhood can't thank you enough. <3
