You can but:
1. The game is dead, you'll barely find a match with anyone.
2. Even if you do, many people would just leave mid session which is really unfun.
3. In many cases you'll encounter heavy lag since you'll be matching with people that are not from your server.

So yeah, unless you got a group of friends that are willing to play the game with you, I don't think the game is worth it.

can you not join like lobbies with randoms? this is why i havent bought yet cause no friends other than irl friends who dont game regularly
