Bought this game many moons and a lot of grey hair ago. Some of the lines haven't aged well and are a little cringe at times. But the game holds up nearly a decade later.

Pros:
Great engaging story
You really feel like you build a connection to several characters throughout the game
Rewind feature really allows you to explore which choices you prefer

Cons:
If you're a remotely empathetic person, this game will utterly devastate you emotionally. Would not recommend if you're going through a dark period. First time I played through this, it took me days before I felt remotely normal again.

Final Thought: Bae before Bay

I'm about 33% through the campaign and here's my initial feelings.

Pros:
1. It's a good day to fry
2. Each unit feels unique and useful to counter specific enemies.
3. Once you figure out unit placement, the game's difficulty seems to drop
4. There's plenty of objectives and things change rapidly enough to where you're going to stay pretty engaged

Meh:
1. Graphics are okay for not being a AAA title. Although given today's tech, I feel like the dev could have done a bit better, but I'm not disappointed
2. Voice Acting is just....bleh. I wish they'd gotten the John Cunningham to come back as the Fednet announcer
3. Soundtrack is okay, but it would have been nice to have some of the sound effects and music from Starship Troopers licensed for this.
4. Feels like Command and Conquer - Lite

Cons:
1. It seems once the main campaign and special scenarios are that's it, game over which I see as possibly damaging replayability
2. Tutorial could have been more robust, but that's a minor complaint as I figured mechanics out after about 30 minutes.

Summary:
If you're an fan of the Starship Troopers Live Action Movies, Animated/CG/Anime Movies etc. You'll definitely have a good time playing this game and you'll definitely like to know more. It's a nice nostalgia trip and the $30 (USD) Price Tag isn't that painful. Each level feels unique and so far nothing seems reused other than the units which is to be expected. Don't expect a thrilling AAA campaign with massive surround sound explosions and 4k visuals. This is basically a casual level game with graphics even the cheapest of modern computers should be able to run with minimal concerns. However, with the fact it's a straightforward game, replayability seems to be limited. Hopefully the Dev will add more content in the future.

This game starts out simply enough. Decently drawn graphics and a decently engaging story. However, my biggest issue with the game stems from the fact that it's ridiculously easy to lose the game. After several hours and much tinkering with different options, I've given up and deleted the game.

I'm so glad I came across this game. Parts of this game were nearly as painful as the sad parts of Life is Strange. After making a major choice towards the end, I was legitimately depressed for hours. It's not often games tug at the heart strings, but this had a quality story.

Early Access Review
This game has so many things I'd like to say about it. I'm going to lead off with saying I'm a fan. As a newcomer to the A&S game library, I was pleasantly surprised at the level of polish this game has even still being in "early release" The devs are nothing but courteous and polite at all times. I've, just as many players have, interacted with the Devs personally. An email exchange between them and myself sold me on their desire to do right by their community. As for the game, I've listed some pros and cons.

Pros:
The Adademy gives you a pretty good basic rundown of most of the game's tools.
The only(Currently) available mission was well thought out and you get a high stakes feel to it
There's an almost countless amount of ways to approach a target.
GUI is borderline gorgeous, and with the changable skins, it's able to be changed to something you find visually pleasing
I've seen no major glitches, and the few I have seen and reported to the devs were already know. However they were gracious that I still felt it necessary to report it to them.
(I could go on for hours, but let's move on)
Cons:
Slow Paced at times. (Hacking can take a while)
(Was a pro above) Countless ways to approach a target. This is also a bit of a con in my opinion. Because there's so many different ways to approach some things in the game, you will a lot of time get distracted by your "go to" method of penetrating a target. This can at times cause you to miss small details that can drive up the time to complete a task.
Content release is slow (Still in early release)
Numerous minor bugs, but to be fair, the devs are actively squashing the bugs and the game gets more and more stable and fun with every update.

Those were my major gripes.

Note to Live Streamers:
This game is nearly ideal for streaming. The slow pace of it will allow you to engage with your audience even more. Since the game can get complicated at timees, it creates a lot of opportunities to explain your thought process to your audience.

Final Thoughts:

This game is far from perfect. With that said, the developers are adding more and more on a regular basis to the game. Despite the slow pace at times, it can keep you on the edge of your seat while waiting to see if an attack succeeds. Do be warned though, to an untrained person(me for example) the immersion of the game can make you question if you're actually playing a game or not at times. This I believe, is exactly the point of building an immersive universe and game. I wholeheartedly believe that this game should be a staple in a techie's steam library. The community support is outstanding on their discord server, and the developers regularly engage their users. Alice & Smith act less like game devs and more like gamers just wanting to make something they find fun. The comparison I'll draw here is Halo: Combat Evolved. Bungie made a game they thought was fun, and that's what is happening here.

Buy this game.
