Great game

This game is awesome, it was exactly what I was looking for:

All the best elements of Dawn I + all the best elements of Dawn II

Ignore this whole MOBA tanget, thats not the case at all... there are heroes like in Dawn II, but they can easily be felled by your regular troops.

The micro can be intense, which is what I love and I really enjoy the diversity of strategies and tactics that you can deploy. The customizability of your heroes, and your doctrines adds a lot of replay value.

Highly recommend it.

Great pick up + put down game. Is not P2W and can be played casually for a lot of fun. This is a real gem at a great price.

I love this game as every match is intense, and even when you lose you have a blast. So much fun, the pace and timing / tempo really make this game.

I cannot express how much I have fallen in love with this game.

tldr: Had it on my wish list for a long time, hestitant of the art style. Don't be, the progression of your merc company is incredibly engrossing and the strategic gameplay is incredible.

Enjoyed my time with this lil lass.

This game grew on me, I have come to really enjoy this sucker.
There is a very specific progression for taking map sectors, which can be a learning curve at first.

This game is just the worst, but my god I cannot put it down.

It just slams you right in the privates, and then you ask for more.

TLDR: A fun sandbox WWII naval battle, "sim" lite/arcade game. Enjoyable gameplay with graphics that are pretty crisp, and the interface is easy to get the hang of. Sandbox campaign and a number or challenging historical battles.

*Edit* I significantly ramped up the difficulty and it handled much of the "want" in late game battles so that you have evenly matched foes and are not steam rolling everyone in sight. Great game.


Pros:

-The price:
Cannot beat it, everyone harping about this and that needs to adjust accordingly.
-Gameplay:
I really enjoyed the naval battles, they were at times intense with some really fun combinations of ships to play with. -----Gameplay II:
The "sim" lite / arcade gameplay is great, because you can jump right into the gameplay and focus on blowing up stuff.
-Manual control:
Very satisfying to take manual control of a battleship and rip through the enemy.
-Real time:
I enjoy that this is "real time" vs. turn based, you can adjust the speed of the action to your liking and pause to issue orders to your fleet.
-Ship detail:
The ships are rendered well, with some great detail...I wish there was a smidge more to dive into and really zoom in on...but meh.
-Campaign mode:
Three massive sandbox theatres to mess around within, and you can choose a number of different sides to play as...so adds to replayability. (note the campaign is also a con)
AI:
-The AI doesn't derp out. Not a resounding Pro, but it works well and I can issue broad orders and micro segments and the AI can handle itself and remembers to continue breathing on its on.

Cons:

-Campaign mode:
As the thumbs down have noted, the missions are kind of meh...and once you assembly a pretty big fleet there isn't much to stop you. ON THE FLIP SIDE...I just take my massive unbeatable, uber armada and deploy peices of it to match my opponent. (ex: they have a battle ship, cruisers, and destoyers?....I drop my battleship, crusiers and destoyers....and I hold back all my crazy aircraft carriers).
-RPG
Hard to say this is a con, but you have your character and your subsequent captains in your fleet and they rank up...but thats it. It would be amazing if there were some character building elements, and specialization + unlock proficiencies in your ships as they progress (al la warthunder et al.)
-"sim" lite / arcade
Mind you this is also a pro for me...that being said I wish there was a tad more sim aspect to this game. Watch the vid on the store page, you will see how combat unfolds...its great!...but in the same regard I wish there was just a touch more simulation'ishness in the game, just a hair more.
-Sandbox
Yes you can prowl around the seas helping your allied (or axis) homies...but there isn't a terrible amount of cohesion to the theatre. I mean you can rampage around and not really think twice about anything...honestly I dont know what would improve this..but there is a vague niggling sense in the back of my head that wants more to this. Maybe ease us in with more missions that work in concert with your AI allies?
-Gameplay
And now I am being critical of a game I love. It is a touch too arcadie, and as above I don't know how to improve upon this without ruining the fun...its like when homer simpson designer the perfect car with everything everyone wanted...but I wish there was just a touch more to the gameplay.

Overall I have had a blast with this game, I wish there were more like it. I would recommend it to others if this is your thing, it's relaxing and just feels great to take your ships and head their ships. Intense naval sim this is not, C&C sytle RTS missions this is not...but for the price this is a great relaxing game.
