“Sometimes, when this flawed world seems unusually hateful, I wonder whether there might be some other place, far away, where I should have been. I cannot seem to imagine what that place might be, and if I can’t even imagine it then how can I believe it exists?
And yet the universe is so very, very wide, and perhaps it might exist anyway? But the stars are so very, very far away. It would take a long, long time to get there, even if I knew the way.
And I wonder what I would dream about, if I slept for a long, long time…”

Epitaph Of Twilight by W.B Yeats (From the .HACK// Series)

Yet to return, the shadowed one.
Who quests for the Twilight Dragon
Rumbles the Dark Hearth,
And Helba, Queen of the Dark,
Has raised finally her army.
Apeiron, King of Light beckons.
At the base of the rainbow do they meet
Against the abominable Wave,
Together they fight.
Alba's lake boils.
Light's great tree doth fall.
Power - now all to droplets turned
In the temple of Arche Koeln.
Returns to nothing,
This world of shadowless ones.
Never to return, the shadowed one,
Who quests for the Twilight Dragon.

Late-Game Spoilers ahead!

Picture a player; maybe yourself, who has gotten halfway up the Capital Outskirts on the Altus Plateau, and just picked up the lone Golden Seed from the mini Erdtree. You heal up, and instead of deciding to head up the right-hand path to the castle, you go left to see what goodies are along the outskirts.
Along the way you see a lone NPC standing around. You decide to ride past it, thinking that the Runes they'll give won't be worth anyone's time. That's when you hear a voice:
"I see thee, little Tarnished."
You turn Torrent around, thinking that it's a quest NPC that may give out some-
You recognise that voice.
And that tiny human NPC is now gone in a flash, replaced by the bane of your early game existence:
Margit The Fell Omen.

In the open world.

Back for Round 2.
At first you're both shocked and freaking the hell out. You've played the previous Souls games; you didn't expect this to happen in the slightest! No-one has said anything about this, yet! Now Margit is attacking, and you find yourself dodging on autopilot. You catch youself as you realise this.
Margit's attacks are still the exact same as the last time you fought.
You test a hypothesis with a slash, and find yourself doing much more damage than you have done before.
Looks like Margit's health pool is still the same, too.
And now laughter starts bubbling up inside, at this point it's Game Over for the once-feared boss. You know every move they're going to make before they do, you have higher stats, you have a weapon that you've meticulously levelled up, and there's no constraints to the battle area. You whittle down their health, taking a few minors hits here and there, but it doesn't matter;
The tables have turned, you're not in a Boss Fight with Margit, Margit is in a Boss Fight with you.
"Time to end this," you think to yourself. "I've got harder things to kill and an Elden Lord to become."
Your final attack? A jumping slash.
Margit's body? Turns back into the previous human NPC, which you now realise was his.
Your reward? A few paltry Runes and a new trinket.
Margit's reward? A Point Downwards gesture as he falls to the ground.

Your feelings on the matter?
100% satisfaction.
