Accepting the new Privacy Policy literally turns the game into spyware

It's a pretty fun game, the story had me on the edge of my seat in the beginning, end, and significant parts of the middle.

Heads-up: there will come a time when you will face timed challenges at every turn, some of which are permanently game-ending for your current save file

Keep this command in a txt file (on your actual pc!) or somewhere you can easily copy from because the game does not support highlight and copy, but you can still paste (for now)

There's also a challenge that will require you to be familiar with the terminal commands it teaches you

Quick tip: **Sometimes** if you dc and immediately reconnect afterwards while your commands are running, it'll remember to keep the ports/proxies/firewalls open.
This doesn't work all the time, like for the Kaguya Trial of Haste and Red Line for reasons that will be obvious when you get there, but it does sometimes help make things easier.

It's still early access, so take this review with a grain of salt

I really can't complain too much about this game now that I've tried it out. Maybe that would have been a different case if I had played it when I purchased it, but now? Nah. I'm totally cool with this game!

If you're a casual player like me, Easy Difficulty is the way to go.
At first the entities are intimidating, but after a couple of deaths, they stop being scary and more of a nuisance.

On Normal and Hard difficulties though? Yeah, be very afraid.
This is particularly true if they spawn on top of you, or linger while you're respawning, while you're trying to complete a puzzle.

Also, keep track of where items are if you already have the maximum amount.
There's a spray can for a reason, mark passageways you've already completed. (if applicable)

Maps and solutions to puzzles seem to be different every time you play, so online resources (other than articles with hints on how to solve them) might not help.

There are some puzzles that are easy to bypass if you're not careful and doing so will make you unable to complete the run.

The controls take some getting used to, pathfinding needs refinement, spawn locations for dealing callouts/events constantly glitch out, and I wish I could change the keybind for radio callouts because having it be the same as the left turn signal is irritating, but overall? I can't get enough of this game!

ps: would love more fully customizable player characters/backgrounds in the future

Things go from really cute to really weird really quickly, but that's part of what makes it fun
It's also great for anyone looking for an easy way to teach about evolution in general

Things to keep in mind:
Save frequently, the game tends to crash
Online services haven't been available in years

I love the challenge of saving the world instead of destroying it. However, there are some unnecessary hardships in normal difficulty that could be worked on.

Now I understand that you have to keep your Authority high in order for people to obey lockdowns and stop the spread, but it costs funding for everything you need to minimize the infectivity, especially if you have to manually supply care packages. That same funding could be used to speed up vaccine research and production, but then you sacrifice Authority drastically due to the rapidly spreading disease. There is no real middle-ground, so anything higher than casual on anything other than bacteria is a "darned if you do, darned if you don't" situation.

Sometimes after a long day, all I want to do is sit down with a relaxing bio-weapon level.

Seriously though, this game is challenging even on normal difficulty which really tests me to think on my toes for the harder plagues. Virus and Nano-Virus are especially challenging from my experience with the mobile version, things get out of hand insanely fast. I love games that make me think.

Can't wait for Cure mode to be released.

I have mixed feelings about it

Gameplay, mechanics, and art style are very nice, about reminds me of a Tim Burton movie

But the LAG FEST!!! I keep dying every 10 seconds because I can't stop lagging!

I have more than the minimum required specs, my internet speed is typically around 50mbps, so I shouldn't be having connection problems right? Well I do, and lag compensation from the settings menu just makes it worse.

For now, I only recommend this to people who are playing offline or hosting with a top notch net speed until they someday fix this issue. By all means, still try the game. Just don't try to connect to anyone else, and certainly don't have any other applications open that use internet.

I expected challenging, not hell in a handbasket on casual difficulty. For the unprepared, here's what you can expect from this game.

Melee weapons do little damage unless you have enough room for error to click and hold for a more powerful attack; *useless* against hordes.

Firearms like pistols and shotguns only have 1 clip.

Ammo packs do nothing but sit in your inventory.

You will die. A LOT.

Edit: Thought I'd try to play again and even though I have a friend who is playing the game and has an active server, the game does NOT recognize the server on the list

I really like this short film adaptation of the game, but now I'd like to see how it'd look for all the various endings found in the game. I imagine they'd be just as amazing even if they were longer or shorter.
