Picture this . . . Your only weapons are a hand levering rifle and a revolver, you're in the bayou, an unforgiving environment already, but you add in zombies and monsters that want to kill you just simply because you exist. Oh, and you're trying to nab other players too trying to retrieve a bounty.

That is the Hunt experience, this game is unforgiving, but on the days you come out on top, you feel like a million bucks, this game is unique in that luck, skill, and timing all come into play, and this game makes you rely on sound as another factor, not a lot of games do that. Up into this point, Hunt: Showdown is probably my all time favorite shooter because of the learning curve and unpredictability that comes with it.

Despite it's age, it's still pretty enjoyable, the Cold War era, more specifically in the 80s were always interesting, especially WW3 related songs (99 Luftballons and 1999 respectively), the games sounds are pretty weak compared to more contemporary titles, but it's fun to see how ArmA began. I would rate this a solid 7, it's ahead of its time and changed the shooter genre. But don't come here for fast explosions, you have to be big brain and look at the objectives. All in all, it's a fun game and if you played similar titles, you know what to expect.

It was fun while it lasted, but nothing new is brought to this game, and I highly prefer insurgency source because of the bigger player base and AMBUSH is the best game mode, this game is just unbalanced as ♥♥♥♥.
