Tentative Recommendation. I think with a few tweaks, this game could be wonderful as the gameplay itself is pretty solid. I love the flow, but it does feel like it's missing a really clean design. Here are a few things I've noticed in my handful of hours playing so far:

• Aerial dash favours left movement over down, so you have to let go of left to down-dash onto the left-facing slopes.
• Down dash is linked to both down and dash as well as down and jump, which can cause you to die if you're not careful.
• I've bound dash to R1, which is also the interact button, which appears is unable to be bound.
- When I'm trying to dash away from terminals 'n' such, I'll often end up locked in lengthy menu transitions by accident or dialogue I can't skip.
• R1 also opens the doors. But in this instance, it prioritises the dash instead, making me run away from the doors I'm trying to open unless I hold down.
• Jump being dynamic makes it hard to judge how long I have to press the button to get the right height to catch ceilings or clear ledges at times (skill issue on my part).
• If a ledge is 1 tile, you're unable to climb over it in the same way you would with a wall.
• If you go too fast on a stage, the run isn't recognised on the leaderboards.

I think if most of these concerns are tidied up, this game will be a fantastic experience for both veterans and newbies to the platform genre.

The best part of this reboot was finding that I could change to the original music and not have to deal with the terribad new sounds.
