So many people flamming this game, most of whom never payed a dime to play. I actually like the game and I am sad that trying to be transparent caused such a fuss. Most people don't even understand what's going on they just simply like to be a part of the mob, disgusting but here we are.

IF you are here because you wanna play a less serious plane/tank/ship simulator then this is the game for you. I registered in 2013 and played on and off. Originally I used their own launcher but a few years back I migrated to steam, no regrets.

Sometimes it's infuriating but when you perform well it's that much more rewarding. Only game of it's kind (WoT and the others are just too arcadey for me).

Early Access Review
Nice Game!

I've played two games and for the last 30 hours i've been using the full reality setting with some fantastic mods. Never for a second did I regret the purchase.

Beautiful and immersive!

EDIT:
I miss this game so many unique solutions and details that I've never see in other games like how your feet followed the layout of the ground. And that the camera was actually showing what your character saw and not placed in your chest. Small almost insignificant details (like seeing your own charactes feet if you looked down) made this game fun and so enjoyable to play. I miss the bikes and the crazy inf v inf grinds in campaign. I miss Reto and the community lives from back in the early days. MAybe one day. So long, farewell!

Original review from 2017:

I recomend everyone to try the game.

I've been playing the game for a while now (since 2013 or 2014 when it started in beta, back then we used a browser start page). I have mixed feeling about H&G since this is one of soo many games that has potential to be one of the best in its kind due to the unique approach of combining grand-strategy with a tactical shooter, yet it sucks on so many levels, the progression is fustrating and grindy and it lacks basic mechanics (like holding your breath while aiming). This game used to be so much fun, and at time it still is, but these days the most fun comes when you defeat ♥♥♥♥♥♥ game mechanics and not the opposing team (I am intentionally exaggerating).
The graphics are outdated, but not terrible and the physics engine is kinda fun, the character models are great and work well (whitin the confines of the game, not necessarily compared to other games).
All in all the game is good and bad at the same time and if the poor devs had more money I'm sure they'd turn this game around. For now though I feel as if the game never really left BETA and I can't escape the thought that all the time and money I spent on it was an investment that went down the drain and I can't stop coming back because I spent so much on it already.

I still have hope that somehow magically the devs manage to guide this game to fit the expectations of 2020's but I fear that it's too late. Maybe somebody picks up the base concept and the good and fun mechanics which are holding the game together like flexseal and makes something better of it, but till then I am stuck here spending euros and time on H&G.
