This game is in year 8 of content (???) which I am in awe of! I really do not believe this is a game worth your time anymore.
In the first years of this game, it was a sensationally fun experience and friends and I would play all night, I continued playing to be a much higher level and the art and gameplay is great fun.
Problem is after this long and Ubisoft being involved, the game ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sucks to get back into and the skill gap between beginner-average-pro is insanely brutal. The cost involved to 'keep playing' is also astronomically high now.
Please understand its a fun game and the warriors are unique and enjoyable, but they are not at all balanced (pay to play the much higher % win rate hero) and its going to suck for most people if you haven't already played 100's of hours historically, to conquer and memorise the reactions to every hero v. hero hit iteration and the corresponding frame-rate windows to counter.

I played this game when I was a teenager (>300hours) and I as an adult man, dealing with the working world, riding my motorcycle in busy traffic, drinking, having sex, reading etc. STILL remember these sea shanties and will remember them at the most obscure times in life. I have no regrets, only fun memories of being a pirate.

This was an era of video games that's were genuine quality experiences from the heart of (human focused) development teams, thank you.

Ive never been so pissed off that the AI actually poop on me, I've gone from unbeatable to pro(?) (down 2 levels) and there's some fun nail biters trying to outskill the perfect grip, rubber banging ai.

This game is really packing in a tonne of fun in a really practical little game! If its to late to commit to a large scale game, bam! Slay the Spire.
Doing some extra book work after hours that I don't need to rush, bam! Work + Slay the Spire.
I have been wanting to pickup chess also and this game gave me a positive viewpoint on the whole 'tabletop' style, at least for me. It was a great install that I did on a whim to try something different.
